Georgia's recent performance suggests they aren't the juggernaut people thought

Did we get a little bit duped by Georgia's dominance? Because we watched that 49 to three game against Oregon week one... and we're like, this team is insane. And I think they're obviously still very, very good. But the last two... games in a row where they've played down to their competition severely. Makes you start to say, Huh, maybe this isn't like the juggernaut we all thought it would be.

Georgia went on to go undefeated and won the National Championship in dominant fashion, proving they were indeed a juggernaut.

Kyle Shanahan owns Sean McVay as a coach

It was a Kyle Shanahan masterclass. [Shanahan] owns Sean McVay. Obviously not the NFC Championship game, but I think it's now nine and three against the spread, Kyle Shanahan versus Sean McVay.

Historically, Shanahan has maintained a significant regular-season advantage over McVay, though the 2021 NFC Championship game remains a major outlier in the rivalry.

Pete Carroll is having more fun with Geno Smith than he did with Russell Wilson

I actually think that Pete Carroll's having more fun with Geno Smith as his quarterback. It's a combination of like, okay, weirdo Russ isn't around so I don't have to worry about placating him all the time... If I win a game with Geno Smith, that's pretty cool. If I lose, who really cares.

While subjective, the Seahawks' 2022 season was widely considered a 'fun' success where Carroll and Geno Smith appeared rejuvenated.

From a purely passer perspective, the Lions won the Jared Goff for Matthew Stafford trade

It's time to ask like who really won that trade Cat? The Rams or the Lions. ... Just from a purely passer perspective. [Big Cat: I'd want Jared Goff.]

While Stafford won the Super Bowl immediately, Goff went on to have a highly productive career in Detroit, making this a legitimate debate long-term.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
