Manny Diaz is the perfect coach to bring Miami back because he is slightly shady

Manny Diaz is the perfect type of Miami coach where he walked in the door and was like, I'm bringing the U back. And then immediately started doing shit that pissed everyone off and was slightly shady. Manny Diaz had that boat party... He's doing the things that brings Miami back, so I'm all in on Manny Diaz.

Manny Diaz was fired after three seasons with a 21-15 record, failing to actually bring Miami back to national prominence.

Christmas Day is the official start of the NBA season

People start caring about the NBA on Christmas Day. That is the official start of the season. They should just start it at that point and then move on from there because, yeah, football, we own the fall.

The NBA season literally starts in October, but culturally, Christmas is the major TV launch point for many fans.

Imagine Dragons will definitely have a featured song for the 2019 college football season

On Saturday night, Imagine Dragons is going to hit, and it's going to feel so damn good. I assume that Imagine Dragons has a song for this college football season. Because if they don't, then... that's actually more of a pressing issue than climate change.

Imagine Dragons' songs like 'Natural' and others were heavily used in ESPN promos around this era, though Judah & the Lion's 'Over My Head' was the primary 2019 anthem.

The Turnover Chain is officially dead because Paul Chryst mocked it

I mean, the turnover chain. Paul Chryst killed it... Real swag is no swag. And he said, 'Turnover chain my ass.' I think when the Wisconsin head coach... says turnover chain my ass, it's over. And they tried it last year and it was weird and awkward. So I think it's over.

The turnover chain persisted for a few more seasons until Mario Cristobal officially retired it in 2022, but its 'cool factor' peaked in 2017/2018 as Big Cat noted.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
