MLB owners should take a financial loss this season to save the sport's long-term future

The owners will be making money forever. If they had any kind of foresight, the idea here would be take a loss this season but save the baseball season and dominate the ratings. This is the Long play: lose some money this year, but keep baseball going... instead they're taking the short-term approach, the dumb approach.

The 2020 MLB season was eventually played (60 games), but the labor dispute significantly damaged the sport's reputation and lead to a lockout in 2022, suggesting the owners indeed prioritized the short-term over goodwill.

A 50-game MLB season will result in an asterisk for whoever wins the World Series

I think we're all resigned to the fact that it's going to be 50 Game season, which will result in an asterisk on whoever wins this world series unless it's the Nationals or the Cubs or the Red Sox.

The season ended up being 60 games. While fans of rival teams often joke about the asterisk for the 2020 Dodgers, it is officially recognized as a full championship.

I want to buy a Wiffle ball league and become the Vince McMahon of Wiffle ball

I want to buy a wiffle ball leak and I watched probably three hours of this Wiffle ball league in Michigan... I want to be the Vince McMahon and Wiffle ball and and bring them all together and make a national Wiffle ball league because you know what? I actually think Wiffle ball could just be the new sport.

While he didn't start a national professional league, Barstool did eventually host several successful Wiffle Ball tournaments/content series.

The lack of sex in the NBA bubble will lead to technical fouls and 1980s-style physicality

What if the just like rate of technical fouls and physicality of the game goes way way up because nobody's having sex inside the bubble? That would be great for us it be young back to real and be returned to the 80s and be a when men were men.

The NBA bubble was actually noted for high-level play and some of the best offensive shooting in history, not necessarily a surge in 80s-style brawling.

American sports dominance is officially over

Are we as a country washed? because this also is on the heels of shams announcing SGA back to back MVP and I think it's been like nine years, I believe eight years since an American has won the NBA MVP... and Aaron Rai, it's the second European to win a major this year and Europeans are now two and oh in majors for the first time since 1934.

While hyperbolically stated, the fact that international players have dominated NBA MVPs (Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, SGA) for nearly a decade is factual.

The Steelers will be stuck with a 7-10 win ceiling with Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is back. I feel bad for Steelers fans... he's not the same quarterback... the Steelers just put a finite floor and ceiling on their season. Right? And it's somewhere between seven and 10 wins. That's what we're thinking.

The Chicago White Sox are no longer a joke and could win the AL Central

White Sox are good. They're actually like, this is finally like, it's kind of, they're not a joke. They've got some sluggers. Big time dude... I don't know what the price is for them winning the AL Central, but they, they, they are not a bad team.
