The 49ers lose the Super Bowl whenever they beat a team without blue in their logo in the NFC Championship

Anytime they've beaten a non-blue team in the NFC Championship game, they've gone on to lose the Super Bowl... Falcons in 2013 and Packers in 2020. They lost those Super Bowls. [The Lions] are a blue team... but wait, Lions have blue... wait every time the 49ers have won versus a team that has a shade of blue they win... but anytime they've beaten a non-blue team they lose.

The 49ers beat the Lions (blue) but lost the Super Bowl, breaking the trend cited in the take.

Patrick Mahomes is ahead of Tom Brady's pace for greatness

Yeah, I mean, it's tough to deny if he wins a Super Bowl. He is on pace... I'd say ahead of pace.

Subjective comparison, but statistically Mahomes had more titles and better stats than Brady did after six seasons as a starter.

Steve Spagnuolo is one of the best defensive coordinators of all time

Steve Spagnuolo, he is probably one of, if not the best defensive coordinators of all time. When you think about what he's done, he is got three Super Bowls. He stopped the [2007] Patriots, one of the best offenses of all time... held the Ravens, one of the best teams this year in terms of offense, completely befuddled the MVP of the league.

Spagnuolo went on to win his fourth Super Bowl as a DC (record) later this same season.

NFL players should be allowed to taunt

I think taunting should not be a penalty in the NFL. They're pros. If you wanna do it in the college, that's fine... The guys are putting their life on the line. They're playing a passionate game. This is the biggest game of their lives. You should be able to taunt.

This is a subjective opinion about league rules.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
