The NFC South will be full of 9-8 and 10-7 teams

I think it's just gonna be a lot of teams in the NFC South that are gonna be nine and eight, 10 and seven and then the Panthers. And it's gonna go exactly like last year where it's gonna be the three way between the Falcons, the Saints, and the Bucks.

The Falcons finished 10-7, the Bucs 9-8, and the Saints 9-8. This prediction was incredibly accurate regarding the parity and exact win counts.

Sam Darnold might have a good year because he has the best receivers of his career and no mono

Am I crazy for thinking Sam Darnold might have a good year? My whole thinking was he's gonna have the best receivers he is ever had. Seventh year bump... No mono. Kevin O'Connell. Good coach.

Darnold had a career resurgence in 2024, leading the Vikings to a winning record and playing at a borderline Pro Bowl level for much of the season.

The Vikings are making the right call to give JJ McCarthy long-term meniscus surgery

I think they're doing the right thing... I think he's probably over Josh Dobbs. It's the right call I think to do the long-term meniscus surgery. A rookie quarterback, you don't wanna rush him back from this at all.

Standard medical and team consensus aligns with this; rushing a rookie back from a full meniscus repair is widely considered poor management.

Jalen Hurts is being too good in training camp to learn anything

The problem is that [Jalen Hurts] is too good because I know they always say you learn more from mistakes than you do from success. So he's not throwing enough interceptions to learn anything.

Hot TakeFootballHotSarcastic
He did throw interceptions during the actual season, but the take is a satirical commentary on training camp hype.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
