The NFL should require the highest-drafted quarterback to start behind Ryan Fitzpatrick for three games

They should make a rule that whoever drafts the highest quarterback has to start Fitzpatrick for at least three games at the start of the season. So like Trevor Lawrence when he goes to the Eagles, [Fitzpatrick] should have to start for them.

OpinionFootballMildSarcastic
The NFL did not implement such a rule, and Trevor Lawrence started immediately for the Jaguars.

Trey Lance will be a first-round NFL draft pick

Trey Lance is going to be a first rounder probably... This mock draft I'm reading right now has Trey Lance late in the first round to the [Saints].

Trey Lance was selected 3rd overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

Sports talk show hosts should be required to wear shirts and ties because unbuttoned collars look unprofessional

I actually think all sports radio talk show hosts should wear shirts and ties. Enough of this unbuttoned top thing. I think you look unprofessional when you do it. I'd rather listen to Max Kellerman be wildly incorrect than somebody that doesn't look like... I can almost see Colin Cowherd's nipples right now.

This is a purely subjective aesthetic and professional preference.

Every college football team should be eligible for bowl games this year regardless of their record

Every single team is eligible. I hope that they make 200 bowls. I hope they make the maximum amount of bowls, even if it's like a bunch of teams that have one win have them play all together... the shittier the team the better.

The NCAA did indeed waive win requirements for bowl eligibility for the 2020-2021 season due to the pandemic.

Kevin Willard's joke about firing his staff was funny and shouldn't have been taken seriously

It was such a clear joke and people, I couldn't believe... There were people who actually thought he was being serious. I thought it was a funny joke. And then we had the people trying to cover for themselves being like, well, even if it was a joke, that's not a joke you make. Imagine if you're an assistant and you hear your boss say that.

Whether a joke is funny or appropriate is subjective.

The lack of Cinderellas in the tournament isn't due to NIL but because big teams are more efficient and physical

Todd Golden had a very good point... part of the reason why there's less upsets is teams are just getting way more efficient in scoring at the rim and becoming almost like raising their floor and becoming upset proof in the fact that you get really big dudes... and absolutely hammer the boards. And when you do that against smaller schools, you're not gonna like, how do big schools lose the small schools is like three point variance.

This is an analytical opinion on sports trends that can't be definitively proven right or wrong.

The Sweet 16 in Houston won't be a home game for the Cougars because Iowa and Nebraska fans travel too well

Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa have some pretty big fan bases that are all gonna wanna travel, especially Nebraska... I don't think it's gonna be like they're gonna take over the place, but I don't think it's gonna be 80% Houston at this game.

The attendance split of the Sweet 16 regional in Houston will determine this.
