The WNBA fans and media are ruining the fun of sports with cultural think pieces

Caitlin Clark is adding so many new fans and there's a lot of fans that are just taking the fun out of sports. Everything that happens in the WNBA now has to be a fucking bigger cultural talking point. It's like, hey, it's fucking sports. Shut the fuck up... there's seven think pieces after every game she plays.

This is a subjective opinion on sports media trends.

Bill Walton died because his work on earth was done once the Pac-12 ended

The Pac-12 ends, Bill's like, well my work here is done. [He's] probably hanging out with Jerry Garcia right now and the Pac-12 is on 24/7.

OpinionMediaHotSarcastic
Bill Walton did pass away shortly after the final Pac-12 sporting events, making this a humorous but verifiable coincidence.

The Celtics are a seasoned team that has overcome their past tendencies to 'turtle up' in close games

The Celtics are a seasoned team that knows how to make big plays and that's what they did time and time again in this series. In the past when it feels like they turtle up in close games... they didn't do that at all. They found a way to win.

The Celtics did indeed sweep the Pacers and won multiple close games in the series, supporting Hank's observation of their improved 'clutch' gene.

The NBA Finals schedule is idiotic for making fans wait until June 6th regardless of when the conference finals end

I'm rooting for double sweep just so we can make fun of the NBA scheduling. Fans have to book their hotels and tickets months ago... there's no way an NBA fan books their hotels and plane tickets for the Finals months in advance. It doesn't make any sense.

The NBA Finals did in fact start on June 6th, despite both conference finals series being short (sweep and 5 games).

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
