Trevor Lawrence might be a bust after his late-game spike play

That spike he had on third down, what the fuck was that? That was crazy... he burned third down with the, with the spike. It's like, why wouldn't you, why don't you throw it to the end zone? It was crazy... that one made me think, like he might actually be a bust.

Lawrence led the Jaguars to a division title and a playoff win the following year, largely shedding the 'bust' label.

The 2021 Chiefs are having a resurgence similar to the vintage Patriots

The way everyone talked and ourselves included, talked about the chiefs and my homes in October... and what they have done since is very Patriots ask where everyone's like, have the chiefs been figured out is Patrick or home's bad. And then they've just wanted 11 in a row... That's a very, I think an apt analogy.

The Chiefs did indeed reclaim the AFC's elite status, hosting their 4th straight AFC Championship game that season.

The Cowboys are back and are legitimate Super Bowl contenders

The hype is going to be off the charts on Monday morning for the Cowboys... This was their, oh shit, the Cowboys are actually like super woke debtors. I'm mad at myself. Cause I thought about making a wager on them to win the super bowl on Monday at 12 to one... but the Cowboys are back.

The Cowboys were eliminated in the Wild Card round by the 49ers later that season.

Firing a GM but keeping the coach and QB is the dumbest thing a team can do

The firing of a GM and not of a coach is one of the dumbest things that a pro sports team can do. It's not stability when you've lost 10, 10 games or more every single season for five straight... Why wouldn't you just clean house top to bottom?

The Giants eventually fired Joe Judge just days after the season ended, proving Big Cat's point that a half-measure was illogical.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
