I expect to be booed when I return to Ottawa to play against the Senators

I think I'm for sure gonna get booed. Yeah. [Big Cat: Are you gonna get a video?] I don't know. We'll see. We'll see. I heard some rumblings that it's early on in the season.

Fans typically boo former captains who request trades, though the tribute video usually softens it.

The 4-1 loss to Belgium was the worst USMNT performance in years

That was the worst performance from the US that I've seen in years. Just completely lackluster from the start. So much blame to go around. Tim Ream, friend of the program, good guy over the hill, turned into soccer Shawn Bradley before our very eyes got dunked on twice.

Subjective opinion on the quality of the performance.

The goal allowed by the US goalie was the most embarrassing possible

What about the goalie? Yeah, I mean he... that was the most embarrassing goal that I've ever seen. Possible.

While subjective, the blunder by the US goalkeeper (Freeze/Turner) was widely mocked as a 'MAC football' level mistake.

Christian Pulisic was a 'no-show' and looked like he didn't care against Belgium

Christian Pulisic, the long anointed Captain America future face of this league for American soccer. Absolute no show of a game, I would say worse than a no show of a game. And then he checks himself out. Just looks lackluster, looks like he doesn't care at all. Had the most turnovers on the field of anybody. That played just really, really, really bad.

Subjective evaluation of Pulisic's effort and performance.

The Four Nations Face-Off final was equivalent to an All-Star exhibition game for Team USA

That term meant a lot... [Big Cat: You agree right, that was just the All-Star break?] I don't know if I answer that... Give's a shit about that. That's exhibition.

The tournament was a high-stakes best-on-best event, making the 'exhibition' label objectively downplaying the result.

The USA's 2025 Four Nations Face-Off win will perfectly set the team up to win gold at the 2026 Olympics

I'm, I can't wait. Yeah, it's gonna be, I think it was the perfect thing to set up for the Olympics and, and gaining all these hockey fans... I really do know feel good about our team too, going into it.

Brady Tkachuk predicted the Four Nations Face-Off would set up Team USA perfectly for the 2026 Olympics, and that he felt good about the team. While the USA lost the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off final to Canada 3-2 in OT, the USA did win the gold medal at the 2026 Milan Olympics, defeating Canada 2-1 in overtime — their first men's hockey gold since 1980. The core prediction that the experience would lead to Olympic gold came true.

I can definitely beat up my brother Matthew Tkachuk in a fight

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. [Big Cat: You could beat the fuck out of him?] I'll say and he'll see it and be like, yeah, he can. Oh, he knows. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

This has never been professionally tested and is a matter of sibling rivalry.
