Sports media members are 'fucking dorks' and 'wimps' who wanted to stop the UFC from returning

The media are wimps amongst wimps. wimps will be slapping those guys around. Most of them are fucking dorks. Opinion really means nothing to me... what they wanted to do was stop this fucking event. They felt that shouldn't happen or their fucking egos wanted to prove that they could stop this thing.

This is a subjective characterization and a recurring theme in Dana White's public persona.

September 20, 2020 will be the perfect sports day

September 20th is going to be a hell of a day in sports. Yeah, it's going to be the day when all the sports line. We're going to have NBA playoffs. We're going to have hockey playoffs. You've got also golf the US Open that's the final round of that on that day.

On September 20, 2020, there was a full slate of NFL Week 2 games, the final round of the U.S. Open (golf), Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Finals (Nuggets vs. Lakers), and the Stanley Cup Finals Game 1 was the following day, but MLB and playoffs were in full swing. It was one of the busiest sports days ever.

Hockey is not one of the major four sports

No hockey doesn't count hockey doesn't count. Not one of the major four sports. What's the fourth? MLS?

This is a subjective classification of sports relevance, though the 'Big Four' traditionally includes the NHL.

The NBA return plan is effectively the 'Zion Williamson rule'

The New Orleans Pelicans are right now the 10th seed... they want to figure out a way to get Zion West and I am all for that. It's the Zion rule. Adam Silver could have just gotten in front of the nation and been like 'Hey guys Zion, have you heard of him? Kind of a big deal and we want to make sure that he's involved in this no matter what.'

While Adam Silver never officially called it that, the media consensus was that the play-in inclusion of the 10th-seeded Pelicans was highly beneficial for TV ratings via Zion.

Pay-per-view is definitely not dead

Pay-per-view isn't dead. I mean, I'm gonna do a pay-per-view this Saturday. And when we were doing this deal, you know, even with the streaming services that we were talking to all the different ones, some of them still had pay-per-view options. So pay-per-view is not dead. That's not true.

The health of the PPV industry is a complex economic reality that remains to be seen in the long term.

Fighter pay has increased with every new deal and will continue to go up with the Paramount Plus deal

Since 2001, the day we bought this company fighter pay has gone up. Every new deal that we've done, fight, pay has gone up and obviously fight or pay will go up for this deal. It's incredible for the fighters.

While total pay has increased as the business grows, critics often point to the percentage of revenue shared with fighters, making the 'increase' a point of debate.

Power Slap is the most successful business I have ever been part of in such a short time

The most successful business I've ever been a part of in such a short amount of time. [Power Slap]

Hard to verify without internal financials, but Dana has consistently staked his reputation on this claim.
