Baker Mayfield is going to be a stud

I got to say, there's this running back named Nick Chubb... And we have Baker actually. By the way, he is going to be... a stud. Oh, a stud.

Baker had a sophomore slump in 2019 but eventually led the Browns to a playoff win in 2020. However, his Browns tenure ended poorly, making 'stud' a debatable long-term label.

Christmas Day is the official start of the NBA season

People start caring about the NBA on Christmas Day. That is the official start of the season. They should just start it at that point and then move on from there because, yeah, football, we own the fall.

The NBA season literally starts in October, but culturally, Christmas is the major TV launch point for many fans.

Imagine Dragons will definitely have a featured song for the 2019 college football season

On Saturday night, Imagine Dragons is going to hit, and it's going to feel so damn good. I assume that Imagine Dragons has a song for this college football season. Because if they don't, then... that's actually more of a pressing issue than climate change.

Imagine Dragons' songs like 'Natural' and others were heavily used in ESPN promos around this era, though Judah & the Lion's 'Over My Head' was the primary 2019 anthem.

Manny Diaz is the perfect coach to bring Miami back because he is slightly shady

Manny Diaz is the perfect type of Miami coach where he walked in the door and was like, I'm bringing the U back. And then immediately started doing shit that pissed everyone off and was slightly shady. Manny Diaz had that boat party... He's doing the things that brings Miami back, so I'm all in on Manny Diaz.

Manny Diaz was fired after three seasons with a 21-15 record, failing to actually bring Miami back to national prominence.

The Knicks won the title because they have the most 'grit'

I said, Charlie, that's her name. I said, they have grit. They have grit. It's like in that game four, when when, when Brunson went into the huddle, he said, Hey guys, smart basketball. This is, we can do this... They don't [give up]. That's when they say, alright, we can win this thing.

Grit is an intangible quality that cannot be measured or proven.

Former sports agents are the best choice to run professional teams

I don't know much about the business side of like basketball, but I know that the, the GM or the president [of the Knicks] is a former agent [Leon Rose]. And I know that that Golden State run was run by a former agent too [Bob Myers]... I think this is gonna be the, the beginning of, we're gonna start to see sports agents start to run teams a little bit. I think they know things that about money and about all that stuff.

The success of Leon Rose and Bob Myers is factual, but whether this becomes the standard hiring practice is an ongoing trend.

Winning a championship feels better than the 'emptiness' Joe Mazzulla describes

Coach Mazzulla in his press conference said something about feeling empty when he won and feeling empty when he lost. ... I'm not a psychiatrist, but winning feels better. It's just my take.

This is a subjective emotional comparison, though most people would agree winning is preferable.
