The Oilers aren't good enough to win the West because they lack the depth and defense of other top contenders

I don't think it's [the Oilers'] year... I just think those other teams are a little bit more deep, better goal tending, better defensively... I think the west is too stacked and at the end of the day, I think the east is gonna win it this year.

The Oilers actually did win the West, defeating the Stars in the Western Conference Finals, though they ultimately lost the Cup to the Panthers.

This off-season feels different for the Sixers because they finally have significant cap space to build around Joel Embiid

This is the first off season where we have Cap space and We have some room to make some, a difference in our lineups. [Even] if we don't [get Paul George or LeBron James], just using that Tobias [Harris] money to go get guys like Dante [DiVincenzo], like the role players that the Knicks had who are really good, that go and get guys like that who can surround [Embiid] and hit shots.

The Sixers did use their cap space to sign Paul George and several key role players (Eric Gordon, Caleb Martin) in the 2024 off-season.

Tyrese Maxey has officially taken the next step into being an NBA 'killer' and superstar

Tyrese Maxey kind of [is] taking that next step of like, oh fuck, he's a killer. I agree with you... if we can add this one piece, we might be in a really good spot next year.

Maxey won the 2023-24 Most Improved Player award and is widely considered a top-tier young star in the league.

Tyrese Maxey is better than Jaylen Brown

I mean, Tyrese Maxey is better than Jaylen Brown for sure. Ooh, for sure. [Hank] would trade Jaylen Brown for Tyrese Maxey immediately.

While subjective, Jaylen Brown went on to win Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP in 2024, making this take age poorly in the short term.

The NHL must return to the 1 through 8 playoff seeding format

I think everybody's on our page that they want it one through eight... they gotta figure a way to get it where it's one through eight. 'Cause when you're losing contenders in the first round... guys are gonna lose jobs over that. Gary [Bettman] seems to kind of shut it down every time it's talked about.

This is a widespread opinion on league structure, not a verifiable fact.

The Buffalo Sabres will upset the Boston Bruins in the first round

I think at the end of the day, that Buffalo, it's their year to at least win the series. Go on beat the Bruins... I think they got the mojo coming into this year since they fired their gm. They've been great.

The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Boston Bruins 4-1 in the first round of the 2026 NHL playoffs, which concluded on May 1, 2026. This confirms Keith Yandle's prediction that the Sabres would win the series.

Sidney Crosby is like Tom Brady — built differently and can play at a high level for as long as he wants

People think Sid's like on his way out. Like you gotta put him in the same category as Tom Brady. Like these guys, they're built differently. They can play for however long they want and put up great numbers. Like he just had his 21st season of over a point a game, which is unheard of.

Subjective opinion on Crosby's longevity, though factually grounded. Cannot be definitively resolved.
