Brock Purdy is more than just a system quarterback

I still like Brock. I think he's better than just a system guy.

The take is subjective, but Purdy's continued success and MVP-caliber play in subsequent seasons lend weight to the idea that he is a high-level starter.

The Cowboys and 49ers might be the two best teams in the NFC

The Giants just had to play the Cowboys and the 49ers, which might be the two best teams in the NFC, might be the two best teams in the NFC.

The 49ers and Cowboys both finished as top seeds in the NFC (1 and 2), validating this assessment of the conference landscape.

The 49ers would win the Super Bowl if it were played today

If the Super Bowl were today, do you think that the 49ers would win it? Yes, I think so too. I think that they were the best team in the NFL today.

While the 49ers reached the Super Bowl, they did not win it (losing to the Chiefs). This take refers specifically to 'if it were played today' in Week 3.

The Giants and Vikings are suffering from a 'regression monster' after last season

Yikes. But that's also kind of what we expected when it comes to the regression monster that is biting the Vikings and the Giants right now from last year's incredible runs.

Both teams finished with losing records in 2023 (Giants 6-11, Vikings 7-10) after making the playoffs in 2022.

LeBron James should fake an injury right now to protect his legacy

The Lakers are done. I would not hold it against LeBron's legacy if he did the fake injury right now. Yeah.

Whether faking an injury protects a legacy is entirely a matter of opinion, though mostly seen as a comedic strategy here.

James Harden plays poorly in the playoffs because he is taking a massive pay cut

I think James Harden just does not give a fuck the playoffs because it's such a massive pay cut that he has to take every single postseason... He is making approximately 30 times less than he would normally make to play basketball based on what he's doing in this series. I think at this point he's like, it's not worth my time. I'm not getting paid enough.

The math about playoff pools is generally correct, but the conclusion that Harden doesn't try for that specific reason is satirical.

The Pistons will beat the Cavaliers in six games

I think it's, I would say six games, pistons and six is what it feels like to me. I do think that the, that they're gonna win a couple games at home. The Cavs will, but the Cavs did go from being like young and really, really fun to just kind of depressing and sad real quick.
