The 49ers would win the Super Bowl if it were played today

If the Super Bowl were today, do you think that the 49ers would win it? Yes, I think so too. I think that they were the best team in the NFL today.

While the 49ers reached the Super Bowl, they did not win it (losing to the Chiefs). This take refers specifically to 'if it were played today' in Week 3.

Brock Purdy is more than just a system quarterback

I still like Brock. I think he's better than just a system guy.

The take is subjective, but Purdy's continued success and MVP-caliber play in subsequent seasons lend weight to the idea that he is a high-level starter.

The Cowboys and 49ers might be the two best teams in the NFC

The Giants just had to play the Cowboys and the 49ers, which might be the two best teams in the NFC, might be the two best teams in the NFC.

The 49ers and Cowboys both finished as top seeds in the NFC (1 and 2), validating this assessment of the conference landscape.

The Giants and Vikings are suffering from a 'regression monster' after last season

Yikes. But that's also kind of what we expected when it comes to the regression monster that is biting the Vikings and the Giants right now from last year's incredible runs.

Both teams finished with losing records in 2023 (Giants 6-11, Vikings 7-10) after making the playoffs in 2022.

The Washington Wizards have a better future than the Philadelphia 76ers

Who would you rather be right now, the 76ers or the Washington Wizards? Like the future? Yeah. Gotta be the wizards. Without a doubt. The Wizards. I mean you have an all NBA first teamer Anthony Davis, Trey Young has proven he can be a clutch player... and then you have the number one pick.

The Wizards having the #1 pick and younger stars versus the Sixers' aging core and playoff exits makes this a debatable but grounded stance.

LeBron James will retire after the 2026 season because he has caught the 'golf bug'

I think the golfing, the golf bug might have convinced LeBron James to to forego another full year in the NBA. I think he's gonna be like, you know what, this is kind of awesome. I'm just gonna play golf.

LeBron's retirement status for the 2026 offseason is unknown.

The Wizards will be at least a play-in team and potentially the 5th seed next year

I think that play in or bust next year. And if Anthony Davis stays healthy, I think we might be like to succeed maybe the fifth seed next year.

This prediction for the 2026-27 season is pending.
