I would rather have Taylor Heinicke on my team moving forward than Russell Wilson

I would rather have Taylor Heinicke on my team right now, moving forward than Russell Wilson, which it sounds insane to say, especially thinking back like four or five weeks ago when he looked so bad, but he's, he's legitimately fun to watch.

Heinicke had a decent run but never became a franchise starter, whereas Wilson, despite his Denver struggles, remains a much more accomplished and generally more valuable asset, making this a classic PMT 'of-the-moment' hot take.

The Washington Football Team is 'good-ish' and trending toward being a genuinely good team

I actually think that if you're talking about the entire teams of this show, we are the Roy G. Biv, we're the colors of the rainbow in terms of football teams. ... I think the Washington football team is good-ish. ... I do think the Washington football team, if they are good, they are not good like yet. I think if they win next week... they're good. Russell Wilson is no longer a top five NFL quarterback

It's just very bizarre to me that like Russell Wilson, he's not a top five quarterback right now. ... If you're talking about like the guys that are difference makers weekend and week out, he's not that. He hasn't been that for a little bit right now.

Russell Wilson's performance continued to fluctuate and eventually led to a disastrous trade to Denver, confirming he had fallen from the elite top-5 tier.

I would take Russ, obviously over Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones. ... I'd take Russ over Brady.

Tom Brady led the league in passing yards and touchdowns in 2021, while Russell Wilson had one of his worst career seasons and missed the playoffs.

The Ravens' fourth-quarter problems are moving earlier

Historically, the fourth-quarter Ravens have not been a great team. That fourth-quarter Ravens has started to creep its way into the third-quarter Ravens. And I think eventually it's going to keep creeping earlier and earlier in the game. I don't think it's going to get better because the defense does not look good.

This is a season-long assessment that can only be judged against Baltimore's eventual 2026 performance.

Baker Mayfield has a real revenge game against Cleveland

This is like a big Baker revenge spot too. This is not a made-up Baker—I have a perceived slight against me because some team didn't trade for me when I was on the market. This is Baker Mayfield against Stefanski, and they haven't talked since he left Cleveland.

Whether the personal history materially affects the game is subjective, though the stated public grievance is part of the episode's context.

The NFL should reduce the season to 16 games

I'm going to say it. I think that 17 games is too much. I like the scarcity. I like if you brought it back to 16, because the NFL's also been playing this game for a long time where they have to find safer-looking ways to do a dangerous activity.

The preferred NFL schedule is a policy judgment, though the player-safety rationale is grounded in the discussion's cited study.
