Scottie Scheffler missed his critical putt on 17 because he knows the course too much and overthinks it

The putt on 17 just didn't turn at the last second. It was like half a ball that he missed by. Sometimes these guys know the course too much and they overthink the course. It's like if you're married to somebody for like 60 years, all you do is fight. You know, you lose sight of what makes that person so great.

A common golf trope about over-reading greens, though impossible to verify.

Rory McIlroy is ducking this podcast and it is a glaring empty spot on his resume

A lot of people are saying that Rory can't go on the big one. That he's been ducking this and that's gonna be the one glaring empty spot on his resume when everyone looks at it, when it's all said and done.

While Rory has never appeared on PMT, the idea that it is a 'glaring empty spot' on his actual professional resume is humorously subjective.

Rory McIlroy would have choked this Masters away if he hadn't won last year

I actually think that if he didn't win last year, this one, he would've probably choked away because he kind of had that huge lead. He had a six-stroke lead going into the weekend. He did not play great on Saturday. Everyone kind of caught up to him. He didn't make any huge, huge mistakes on the back nine because he felt confident.

This is a psychological counter-factual that cannot be proven, but it aligns with Rory's history of major struggles prior to 2025.

Max Homa is going to win a major championship

Max's gonna win one. I really believe that he was in it. He's finished tied for 12th or better three straight years at Augusta. He's playing the course well, it's just putting together all four days.

Homa remains a top-tier player who frequently contends in majors in this 2026 timeline.

The Thunder will win Game 7 against the Spurs easily

I think that the thunder win and they win easily in game seven. And we're seeing that a lot. It's like extended series, but the the games themselves aren't particularly close.

Outcome of the May 30th Game 7 (fictional 2026 timeline) is pending relative to the episode date.

NHL playoff seeding is broken and leads to non-competitive conference finals

I agree with the people now that say that the seating in the playoffs and hockey screwed up. I hate it. You get non-competitive series the later you get in the playoffs, it should be the opposite... the fact that it's reached this point where we're getting non-competitive series in the conference finals on a pretty regular basis is very bad for the sport.

Seeding fairness and entertainment value are subjective critiques of sports league structures.

It is normal and expected for international soccer coaches to interview for new jobs right before the World Cup.

This is normal... this is how it happens in the World Cup. This happens like every time. Every coach interviews to take other jobs after the World Cup... those teams interview coaches as soon as they possibly can.

While controversial, it is a common industry practice for coaches to line up their next move before a major tournament ends.
