The wind is a bigger factor in NFL games when there are no fans in the stands

The wind with no fans, with less than a full house, will be whipping more. I think we saw it... enough bodies will just stop the wind.

The physics of wind in empty vs full stadiums is a real phenomenon often discussed by kickers and architects, making this a surprisingly astute observation.

Drew Brees is clearly washed

Drew Brees clearly looked very washed. I've been on the Drew Brees is washed train for two years now and I've said that the Saints have a Super Bowl roster and the only thing that's holding them back is Drew Brees.

Brees threw 3 interceptions and averaged 4.0 yards per attempt in this game, and retired shortly after, confirming he was at the end of his career.

Drew Brees' physical limitations cost the Saints the game

It was clear. [Brees] can't throw the ball over 15 yards. His mind is still there, but he doesn't have any of the physical abilities. And that cost the Saints the game. Drew Brees unfortunately lost them the game.

Stats and film from the game showed Brees unable to push the ball downfield, which allowed the Bucs to compress their defense.

Jameis Winston's one touchdown pass against the Bucs will earn him a massive contract next year

That one pass made Jameis Winston $25 million next year. I don't know about that much, but it definitely... whoever comes in second with the Deshaun Watson jackpot, they're going to have to pony up some cash for Big J-Dog.

Hot TakeFootballHotSarcastic
Jameis Winston signed a one-year, $5.5 million deal to stay with the Saints, which is significantly less than the $25 million mentioned.

Nate Oats needs to teach his players to never let the police look through their phones

Let the Aden Holloway situation be a reminder to everybody that you don't have to let the police look through your phone. I actually point the finger at Nate Oats for this, because Nate Oats, you gotta do a better job of explaining the first through fifth amendments to your players. Given the history that you've had... day one you should have a, get the guys from Morgan & Morgan to come in and be like, 'Do not talk to the police if you're in trouble. Shut the fuck up.'

This is a satirical advice piece and commentary on Nate Oats' coaching responsibilities.

Mark Pope is on the hot seat at Kentucky after this tournament performance

Mark Pope on the hot seat. I think he is. I mean, I think they're gonna bring him back. I think he's safe for this year, but I think he's going into next year. Seat is warm.

Pending — Mark Pope's job status at Kentucky after the 2025-26 season is not yet resolved.

Every major college coaching opening should start by calling Brad Stevens and making him say no

You gotta make him say no. You gotta call Brad Stevens and make him say no. I will personally never stop saying that. He probably wakes up every morning and says no. Voicemail just says, 'Thank you so much for the consideration, but it's gonna be a no.' It would be shocking if he ever took another college job.

This is an opinion on coaching search strategy.
