The Sixers are a bad bet to get out of the East

The Embiid bet's a bad bet. I can't sit here and say yes. And what we mean by work is getting out of the East.

The 2026-27 NBA playoffs have not occurred yet.

The Dodgers are basically impossible to beat in October

They just—they're impossible to beat. You need outstanding starting pitching and a shutdown closer, and then maybe you have a chance in terms of fluking your way into three wins against them.

Whether the Dodgers are effectively unbeatable is a subjective evaluation of their postseason roster and performance.

The White Sox are going to finish off the Guardians

I do think that this series is over. I think the White Sox are just playing at such a hot level and they just have the momentum, and that counts for something in October.

The White Sox-Guardians playoff series outcome had not been decided at the time of the episode.

The Yankees are the dynasty of coming up short

The Yankees are built—I feel like they have the greatest dynasty of being the second-best team every year. They're in the playoffs and every year they're good to win a series and then just fall apart.

The statement is a broad characterization of a team’s postseason history and is ultimately subjective.

Lincoln Riley still has no signature win at USC

If you go through the Lincoln Riley résumé, this is a really long time since starting in '22 to not have that signature win. Give us one. Beat Oregon once and be like, 'Hey, look.'

This is an assertion about USC’s results under Lincoln Riley that can be checked against the record as of the episode date.

The SEC will regain its national-championship dominance

It was still hard for me to believe that they're just not gonna win national championships now because of NIL. That's the kind of parity. I think the SEC is gonna turn this thing back around where they're gonna start rolling through people again.

The SEC’s future national-title results remain unresolved.

BYU is ranked far too highly to be trusted

I was arguing Texas Tech being overlooked because at least they have some P4 wins in there. They looked like shit against Colorado. BYU is eighth in both polls. I'm not putting them in there.

Whether BYU deserves its ranking and can contend is evaluable over the 2026 season, which is not complete.
