I think he got [the fish] from the supermarket. They just put it on the boat.

Fullback assists should be an official NFL stat

I would like to actually make the fullback assist a real stat that's recognized. So that's whenever a running back scores a touchdown inside the five-yard line and a fullback makes a block, they should get an assist like in hockey or in soccer.

While PFF and some advanced stats track 'lead blocks,' it has not become an official NFL box score stat.

I don't think there's been a more perfect move in the history of the NFL than Ryan Fitzpatrick going to the Dolphins... Ryan Fitzpatrick is like the perfect, we can rebuild, but he'll give us four or five wins that will be awesome to watch so people don't get so pissed off about the team sucking.

Fitzpatrick's 2019 season with the Dolphins was exactly this; they went 5-11 with several iconic 'Fitzmagic' moments, including beating the Patriots in Week 17.

They're starting to approach my theory, which is if you can get Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow, Colin Kaepernick, any two of those three, if you have two of those three quarterbacks in your league, people will tune in in droves to watch it.

While Manziel's debut did bring a ratings bump to the AAF, the league folded shortly after, making it hard to prove the long-term 'droves' theory.

2.4 [average]. I'd rather my running back work smart than work hard... Eight touchdowns for five games, that's insane. Listen, say what you want about him. He's very efficient. He doesn't need a lot of yards to get his touchdowns.

So I think Elway's figured it out. So he's learned from his mistakes. He's getting all these tall quarterbacks that aren't very good, but the problem is he's drafting them. So he's had such a terrible record in the draft that he's figured out that the problem is that they were too young.

The Flacco era in Denver was a disaster, and Elway's struggle to find a QB continued until he eventually stepped back from GM duties.

You cannot actively tank in the NFL because players won't buy in

I actually think the NFL, you can't really actively tank. You can't say before the season we are trying to lose because it's such a hard league to stay in for the players. And if the players know that, it's all going to fall apart very quickly.

This is a subjective organizational philosophy debate, though many analysts agree NFL players rarely tank due to short career spans and non-guaranteed contracts.

They're tanking a year too late from what they... Like, last year they should have, like you said, not given... they trotted out Eli Manning's corpse. You then didn't lose enough to be the number one pick this year and get Kyler Murray, so then you had to trade Odell Beckham to then get the picks so that you could then trade up for the number one pick that you could have had if you had just done what everyone said, just lose.

The Giants finished 4-12 in 2019 and did indeed enter a multi-year rebuild that saw Eli Manning benched for Daniel Jones.

Jay Glazer... has maybe the greatest idea ever. Hire all new officials—all combat veterans, special operations backgrounds, go hire a bunch of Navy SEALs, Marine Recon, Delta Force, those guys. They literally can react faster than the rest of the world, even when bullets are flying... and also coaches will be a little less inclined to rip into them out on the sideline.

This has never been implemented and likely never will be due to technical training requirements.

Our speculation was that he [Kyler Murray] may have slept upside down for a few days or weeks... or on a decline because we're told that that lengthens your spine a little bit. So there's a number of ways that you can game this.

My hot seat is the New York Giants. So they won't franchise tag Landon Collins. They're going to let him walk. The guy who's 25 years old, made three Pro Bowls, seems to be like the heart of the locker room. So the Giants are letting him walk. And essentially, I think the Giants' plan is to just keep paying Eli forever.

Collins signed a massive deal with the Redskins and his performance declined, while the Giants moved on to Daniel Jones shortly after, so the 'Eli forever' part was wrong.
