Penn State should have a fluid process for reevaluating Joe Paterno's wins based on current public sentiment

I think Penn State should just have a fluid process of always constantly reevaluating whether or not Joe Paterno's wins stand. So like as more evidence comes out, you can take his wins away. And then once you forget about all the bad stuff he did, you give him his wins back.

Inherently satirical suggestion for institutional policy.

Lane Kiffin will get a head coaching job and be fired within a year

My hot seat is going to be Lane Kiffin. He's probably going to get a head coaching job after this year. It seems about time. And that immediately puts him back on the hot seat because he'll get fired within a year.

Lane Kiffin took the FAU head coaching job in December 2016 and stayed there for three successful seasons before moving to Ole Miss; he was not fired within a year.

Andy Reid is a mediocre coach who will never win a Super Bowl

Andy Reid is just kind of there all the time... He's not threatening. He's not going to win a Super Bowl, but he's going to make your team okay.

Andy Reid went on to win Super Bowls LIV, LVII, and LVIII, cementing himself as an all-time great coach.

Seeing Jack Del Rio go for two will lead to a wave of unnecessary two-point conversions across the NFL

The NFL is a copycat league. A lot of people don't talk about that. But seeing Jack Del Rio go for it and seeing all the media coverage that he had... All the other football coaches out there are going to be like, I want that. I want the media to be talking about my nuts on Monday morning. And so you're going to see a lot of unnecessary two point conversions.

Aggressive fourth-down and two-point attempts did steadily increase in the NFL in the years following 2016.

Jeff Fisher is on the hot seat because Hollywood demands style and points

I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I'm gonna say Jeff Fisher... You live in Hollywood. You got to score some points. Flash. They've canceled series out in Hollywood for less than just a week one dud... If you don't get the results, I think that he's going to be on the hot seat.

Jeff Fisher was indeed fired later that season (December 2016) after a 4-9 start, making this correct.

Dan Quinn is on the hot seat because his defense can't get sacks

Dan Quinn. Oh, okay. Yeah. Second year. You know what? Really, really bad. Dan Quinn, defensive mastermind, 19 sacks in 17 games with the Falcons.

Dan Quinn actually led the Falcons to the Super Bowl this season (Super Bowl LI), so the 'hot seat' was premature.

Chuck Pagano and Sean Payton are on the hot seat to start the 2016 season

I got Chuck Pagano... both the Saints and the Colts, they're in win-now mode. And not only that, but Chuck Pagano, he's been healthy for a while. I think you can fire him now, and it's not like, ooh, we just fired the guy who had cancer.

Both stayed through 2016, though Pagano was eventually fired in 2017.

Marvin Lewis and Jason Garrett are on the 'Ice Throne' and will never be fired

Number one, he's actually – we have to come up with a term. Is it just the cold seat? ... The king of the ice throne, Marvin Lewis. He will never be fired. Here's another one, though. Jason Garrett is so lucky to have Tony Romo because every single year he's like, 'could have been good, Tony got hurt. Dang.'

Both coaches lasted significantly longer than their results suggested they should, eventually being fired in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Chip Kelly is on the Ice Throne because he intentionally stocks his roster with bad players to buy more time

I think Chip Kelly's on the ice throne, too... Because he's got blame gap. One thing that Chip Kelly is really great at is stockpiling his rosters with the shittiest quarterbacks... He's stocking his roster up with bad, bad players. And then he can be like, well, I didn't have the personnel this year. I'm still implementing my system.

Hot TakeFootballFireSarcastic
Chip Kelly was fired after just one season (2-14) with the 49ers, so the Ice Throne did not protect him.

Instagram Stories will be a massive threat to Snapchat's market dominance

Originally, Snapchat completely had the market, but now Instagram is coming in hot... Instagram, Mark Zuckerberg literally took Snapchat and just added it on Instagram... It's going to be a battle.

Instagram Stories eventually surpassed Snapchat in daily active users and significantly slowed Snapchat's growth.

The Cleveland Indians' Chief Wahoo logo will be on the hot seat this year

We, this show, called the shot that the Indians were going to have a good year and the Chief Wahoo logo was going to be on the hot seat and people were going to all get upset. Well, guess what? They had a good year. They lost in the World Series, but they had a good year. They're back. Chief Wahoo still on the hot seat.

The Indians removed Chief Wahoo from their uniforms starting in 2019 and changed their name to the Guardians in 2022.
