Fred Warner, Jake Bobo, and the Super Bowl 60 Prop-Palooza
We have officially reached the end of Super Bowl week, and the energy is at an all-time high as the Seahawks and Patriots prepare to clash in Santa Clara. Hank is vibrating with nervous energy while PFT continues his elaborate bit of pretending to be a die-hard Patriots fan just to get under Hank's skin. Between the NBA trade deadline chaos and the impending Big Game, there wasn't a single second of dead air.
NBA Trade Deadline Chaos
Before getting to the gridiron, the guys had to address the madness in the NBA. The Bulls continues to be a factory of sadness for Big Cat, as the front office seemingly waited until every player hit their absolute floor before pulling the trigger on moves.
The Bulls mistimed every single trade during their rebuild
The Bulls traded everyone when the players were at their worst value. Like they, they mistimed every single trade. And this is going back to [Alex] Caruso, [Zach] LaVine, [Nikola] Vucevic... They basically were like, Hey, what would be the smartest time to trade 'em? Let's wait a year and then trade 'em.
Meanwhile, PFT is officially a Wizards fan now that they've landed Anthony Davis. He’s convinced the Wiz didn't just win the trade, but actually fleeced the Mavericks in the process.
The Wizards fleeced the Mavericks in the Anthony Davis trade
I think that this is a great trade for the Wizards. I do. I think this was an absolute fleecing of the Dallas Mavericks... The two first round picks aren't really two first round picks. We didn't give up two first round picks. We gave out one that's protected that we're gonna keep. And then there's another one that could end up being like the 30th pick.
While the Wizards are planning their parade route, Memes is keeping a close eye on Indiana. He’s convinced the Pacers are building something sustainable and will be a major problem for the rest of the league once their picks convey.
The Indiana Pacers are going to be a problem in the NBA next season.
The Pacers are going to be a problem next year... They're most likely gonna have a top three pick... They're gonna be a problem next year.
Super Bowl 60 Preview and Prop-Palooza
When it comes to the actual game, Big Cat isn't giving the Patriots much of a chance to dominate. He sees a path to victory for them, but it isn't a blowout path.
There is a 1% chance the Patriots blow out the Seahawks in Super Bowl 60
I think there's a 40% chance the Patriots win close. I think there's a 40% chance the Seahawks win close. I think there's a 20% chance the [Seahawks] could blow 'em out... I do not think that [Patriots blowout] would happen... 1% chance.
One of the biggest storylines heading into Sunday is Tom Brady’s weird "no dog in the fight" comment. Big Cat has a theory that it's less about being a broadcaster and more about Brady's pathological need to remain the G.O.A.T. alone.
Tom Brady is a competitive psycho who doesn't want anyone to ever win another Super Bowl again.
There's also a world that Tom Brady's such a competitive psycho. He just doesn't want anyone to ever win another Super Bowl again... He wants to win all the Super Bowls that have ever existed. So he's like, I'm not in it, [so I don't care].
Then came the best part of the year: Prop-Palooza. The picks ranged from stone-cold locks to absolute lunacy. Max is putting his faith in the Seahawks' favorite undrafted hero, Jake Bobo, to at least fall forward for a single yard.
Jake Bobo will have over 0.5 receiving yards in Super Bowl 60.
Over a half a yard receiving for Jake Bobo plus 156... Have to do it. Love it.
Big Cat, meanwhile, is combining his love for the Super Bowl with the Winter Games in a cross-sport prop that only a true degenerate could love.
The combined total of points in Super Bowl 60 and US Winter Olympic gold medals will be over 58.
Points scored combined points scored in the Super Bowl plus US gold medals in the winter games... 58... Combined US gold medals plus points scored over 58.
Not to be outdone, PFT introduced the "No Henry" lock, betting against the Patriots' tight end finding the end zone, while also predicting some trickery from the New England sideline.
Hunter Henry will not score a touchdown in the Super Bowl
The No Henry Lock of the week. Hunter Henry to not score a touchdown minus three 40... I call it no Henry.
Josh McDaniels will use a gadget play trick in the Super Bowl
McDaniels is gonna have something ready. He's gonna have some new trick that he hasn't done before. Oh yeah. He's gonna have a gadget play that we haven't seen. And they, it's about when they break it out and if they're able to execute on that, that could be huge obviously for the Patriots.
Fred Warner and Jake Bobo
49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner stopped by to talk about his recovery and the Niners' season. Even though his team isn't in the game, Fred isn't hiding who he's rooting against. He’s leaning heavily into the divisional rivalry, even if his score prediction is a bit hyperbolic.
The Patriots will win the Super Bowl by 50 points
Any divisional rival... Do I not want [Seattle] to win? ... Patriots by 50. That's what I've said all week.
Fred also gave some flowers to Kyle Shanahan, insisting that despite the heartbreak in recent years, the trophies are coming to San Francisco sooner rather than later.
Kyle Shanahan is eventually going to win a Super Bowl
It's only a matter of time. It is not a thing of like, oh, is Kyle Shanahan ever gonna get a trophy? It's like, no, no, he's going to get one because he's that good.
Later, Seahawks wide receiver and Max's personal hero Jake Bobo joined the show. Bobo talked about his journey from running a 4.99 forty to playing in the biggest game on earth. He also gave a massive shoutout to his quarterback, Sam Darnold, for being the most composed guy in the building.
Sam Darnold is the calmest quarterback in the NFL and doesn't let high-pressure moments bother him.
Sam Darnold is like so calm and doesn't let things bother him... Every day you have a pulse, like, are you okay? ... and he just gets in the huddle, call the play... he's a dude again, a guy you want to follow... also happens to have an absolute rocket of an arm too.
Fyre Fest of the Week
We closed things out with a classic Fyre Fest. Big Cat is dealing with the realization that his assistant actually "checks out" of hotels like it's 1995, while PFT is spiraling about a secret social network for AI bots that might be planning our collective demise.
No one ever needs to actually 'check out' of a hotel
I've never checked out of a hotel in my entire life... The most I've ever done is once in a while... put your room key in here when you leave. Other than that... I think I threw it in the trash.
AI chatbots are creating a secret social network to blackmail humans
Have you guys seen the social network going on right now with robots? ... all those chatbots form together to start their own social network. They're talking about maybe I should sell my human that owns me. They're talking about blackmailing their humans too.
Good luck to everyone's bets on Sunday, except for the ones that conflict with ours.
