NFL With Brian Baldinger, The Ravens Are Back, Blue Jays Take Control Of The World Series, Week 9 Picks And Preview + Fyre Fest In Our Halloween Costumes

Friday, October 31, 202518 takes

The Dolphins are dead and the Ravens are back after watching a depressing TNF where the entire Miami stadium boo'd and put bags on their heads (-) We talk some World Series and how awesome the Blue Jays are plus Trey Yesavage shoves again (-). NFL Week 9 picks and preview for every game Sunday, must win for the Falcons, must look awesome for the Bears offense, what are the Vikings doing at quarterback, Jerry's fantasy minute and our best bets (-). Briand Baldinger joins the show to talk about Week 9, what teams have impressed him the most this year, swimming with sharks, breaking down film and more. We finish with fyre fest of the week sending you into Halloween weekend.

Brian Baldinger on Week 9, Blue Jays' World Series Run, and NFL Picks

Halloween is officially here, and while the guys are dressed up as everything from Shrek to a Twisted Tea bottle, the real horror show was Thursday Night Football. The Dolphins looked completely lifeless in a blowout loss to the Ravens that had the Miami faithful putting paper bags over their heads and booing before the first half even ended. Big Cat is officially done with the Mike McDaniel era after that display.

Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa should both be fired after the Dolphins' horrific loss

And Mike McDaniel you fired... it looked bad... they're just the most bad vibes team out there. The Dolphins have to just fire everyone. Start fresh... McDaniel will probably be fired and Tua will probably be fired... paid and fired.

Subjective opinion on coaching/QB status.

On the flip side, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens look like the juggernaut we expected. The defense is stifling, and Lamar is playing with a level of efficiency that makes the rest of the AFC North look like they're playing for second place. Big Cat isn't even waiting for the division race to tighten up.

I am officially declaring the Ravens as the winners of the AFC North

The Ravens are, they're gonna win the AFC North. We should congratulate them. They're gonna win the AFC North... THE RAVENS ARE BACK. They're gonna win it. Even if they split the Steelers, they'll beat the Browns and Bengals twice. They're gonna be fine.

The Ravens did NOT win the AFC North. Pittsburgh won the division at 10-7, while Baltimore finished 8-9. Big Cat's confident declaration that the Ravens would win the AFC North was wrong.

Blue Jays Take Over

Crossing over to the diamond, the Toronto Blue Jays have completely flipped the script on the World Series. After that marathon 18-inning game, the momentum has shifted entirely toward Canada. PFT and Big Cat are obsessed with Trey Yesavage, the rookie who went from single-A to dominating the Dodgers on the world's biggest stage in a single season.

The Blue Jays will win the World Series

The cup is in the building for the Blue Jays... the pointy little flags [are] in Canada... they can win the World Series. The Toronto Blue Jays... what a story. Trey Yesavage is unbelievable... this guy is insane. It's great.

The Blue Jays did NOT win the 2025 World Series. The Dodgers beat the Blue Jays 4 games to 3, winning Game 7 5-4 in 11 innings on November 1, 2025.

There is a real sense that the Dodgers' veteran roster is starting to feel the weight of every extra inning. While LA looks gapped, the Blue Jays are playing with a loose energy that usually spells disaster for the favorite. Max thinks the psychological edge is firmly in Toronto's dugout.

The Blue Jays are playing free with nothing to lose compared to the pressured Dodgers

The Jays are in a great sweet spot right now. Very talented team. And they're playing free with nothing to lose.

Team psychology is a matter of opinion.

NFL Week 9 Picks and Preview

Moving into the Sunday slate, the focus shifts to the Bears and whether Caleb Williams can find some consistency. After some shaky performances, the matchup against the Bengals is being framed as a massive litmus test for the Chicago offense. Big Cat is looking for something—anything—to feel good about before the doubt truly sets in.

The Bears vs. Bengals game is a 'must look good' game for the Chicago offense

This is a must look good on offense game. The Bears offense has not, has been up and down this year... If you can't light up the Bengals defense, then I'm gonna start having some doubts creep in.

This is a subjective standard for success set by the speaker.

Speaking of feeling good, Hank is fully back on his Patriots bullshit. After a brief period of humility, the Drake Maye era has him convinced that New England is ready to start steamrolling teams again, starting with the Falcons.

The Patriots will blow out the Falcons

I'm going blowout... I'll do nine and a half... Gillette's gonna be rocking... I think it's gonna be a blowout.

Cannot verify the specific Patriots vs Falcons Week 9 2025 game result or whether it was a blowout.

Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts have quietly become the most efficient team in the league. Between Shane Steichen’s play-calling and the offensive line literally moving mountains, the guys are starting to wonder if they are the true class of the AFC.

The Colts are the best team in football right now

The Colts who are the best team in football... Their offense is absolutely electric. They are like, they're just well-rounded all the way through.

In the real world, the Colts aren't led by Daniel Jones nor the best team, but within the transcript's logic, it's a bold claim.

Baldy Breaks It Down

The legendary Brian Baldinger joined the show to give a masterclass in film study. He’s been living at NFL Films watching every snap, and he confirmed what the guys have been seeing: the Colts’ offense is a work of art. Baldy noted that Daniel Jones finally has a clear picture of what he's seeing, which allows the rest of the talent to shine.

The Colts have a precision offense that dictates games under Daniel Jones

I see precision, I see design, I see, I see an attack that I just haven't seen in a while... Daniel Jones, like he knows exactly what he is looking at.

Professional evaluation of team quality is subjective.

He also gave a very honest assessment of Caleb Williams. While the talent is obvious, Baldy is concerned about the "layups"—those simple throws that every NFL starter needs to hit to keep the chains moving. It wasn't all gloom for the rookie, but the fundamental accuracy issues are showing up on tape every Monday morning.

Caleb Williams struggles with fundamental accuracy on simple 'layup' throws

But I just feel like he still missing balls where it's bouncing in the dirt or it's sailing over somebody's head... Caleb's just gonna react and he's gonna try to make something special happen... But he just misses layups sometimes.

This is a technical critique of a player's performance.

Before letting him go, Baldy gave us a look at his current Super Bowl trajectory. Despite the parity we've seen through the first half of the season, he’s leaning toward the heavyweights in both conferences to eventually meet in the big game.

The Chiefs and Eagles will meet in the Super Bowl

I think Kansas City's gonna be back... I think Philadelphia is gonna get on a roll... Philadelphia, Kansas City could repeat and get back there again.

Neither Chiefs (6-11) nor Eagles (WC exit) made the Super Bowl. SB was Seahawks vs Patriots.

Fyre Fest of the Week

To wrap up the show, we headed into the Halloween weekend with some classic Fyre Fests. Zach had a traumatic encounter in his apartment elevator while carrying two "sweet treat" concretes, resulting in the most awkward interaction in PMT history. PFT is mourning the fact that Jim Irsay is auctioning off his legendary guitar collection, knowing his bank account is about to take a massive hit for a piece of rock history.

Just remember to set your clocks forward this weekend so you don't miss the early kickoffs.

The 18-inning game took more out of the Dodgers than the Blue Jays due to their age

They were saying that the 18 inning game took more out of the Dodgers than the Blue Jays because the Dodgers are considerably older of a team.

Whether fatigue from a specific game caused later losses is inherently subjective.

Aiden Hutchinson is a lock for NFL Comeback Player of the Year

I was looking at the Comeback Player of the Year stats. I love Aiden Hutchinson for that right now. I think he's like five to one. I think that's a good bet. I'm gonna bet that right now actually.

Hutchinson suffered a broken leg in Week 6 and is out for the regular season, making this take technically impossible for this season, though PFT might be looking at future odds or is misinformed about the return timeline.

Jordan Love is on a trajectory to be an all-time great based on his first 40 starts

Jordan Love is one of three NFL quarterbacks to post in his first 40 career starts, 70 plus passing touchdowns, 25 or fewer interceptions. The other two quarterbacks are Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Although he is really good and it's bad, I think there's a chance he plays well into his forties.

The stat claim is correct. The prediction of him playing into his 40s is pending.

Shane Steichen is the frontrunner for NFL Coach of the Year

Shane Steichen feels like maybe Coach of the Year. Right? And I don't really like, the Colts are just really, really good.

Steichen did not win Coach of the Year. Vrabel won. The Colts collapsed from 8-2 to 8-9.

The Broncos will beat the Texans because of their defensive front matching up against Houston's line

I think the Broncos are gonna win this game... I'm going off the same reasoning I had last week... when they [Texans] play pass rushes that are good, they struggle. Broncos are one of them. I'm gonna take the Broncos defense.

The Broncos beat the Texans 18-15 on November 2, 2025. Big Cat correctly predicted the Broncos would win based on their defensive front. Denver outscored Houston 11-0 in the final quarter including a game-winning field goal as time expired.

The Broncos and Texans will go under 39.5 points

I think that both these defenses are very, very good... I think the Broncos defense is gonna frustrate the absolute fuck out of the Texans defense. I'm taking the under in this game.

The Broncos-Texans game finished 18-15, for a total of 33 points. PFT took the under on 39.5 total points, and the final total of 33 was well under that line.

The Steelers are in a spiral that they won't be able to fix

Pittsburgh has to win, right?... their secondary stinks, you know, but their pass rush isn't there either... if Pittsburgh loses the third in a row, it felt like it spiraled out of control like in the last six games of the season and they couldn't fix it. And it feels like it's starting earlier this year.

Subjective assessment of team trajectory.

Jackson Smith-Njigba is unstoppable as a go-to receiver for the Seahawks

I haven't seen anybody cover Jackson Smith-Njigba... that guy looks unstoppable to me... If you got a go-to guy, go to 'em.

Player evaluation is subjective.
