Brock Purdy's next contract might not reach Dak Prescott's numbers

Is it gonna be the Dak Prescott contract? It's not, I don't expect it to be. Is it gonna be a fair contract? I would think it would be. They have to pay him... But if Brock Purdy doesn't like that deal, I don't know how far the Niners can go. And then the Niners can just say, okay, guess what? We have your rights this year for 5 million. We could franchise tag you next year.

Brock Purdy signed a 5-year, $265 million extension with the 49ers ($53M AAV). Dak Prescott's deal was 4 years, $240 million ($60M AAV). While Purdy's AAV was lower, his total was higher. The prediction was arguably wrong as Purdy got a massive deal.

The Matthew Stafford and Tom Brady ski trip was definitely not a coincidence

Jordan Schultz had [the report] that Matt Stafford and Tom Brady went on a nice little cozy ski vacation together... Ian Rapoport came over the top and said I'm told that this was just a coincidence... Can you imagine the coincidence level though of like, you and I happen to run into each other on vacation? I'm just not buying it.

The truth of their intent is impossible to verify, but the skepticism is a staple of PMT reporter-mocking.

If Tom Brady explicitly invited Matthew Stafford to his vacation, it is tampering

I think if you can prove that Tom Brady was like, 'Hey, I'm gonna be at Yellowstone Club, come out for the weekend,' then that's tampering. Otherwise, it's gonna be hard to prove.

Under NFL rules, an owner (Brady) recruiting a player under contract (Stafford) is indeed tampering.

NFL owners are cheap if they have bad locker rooms or bad food

I don't understand how anyone owns a team and gets anything worse than like a B on any of these things. If I had that much money and I owned a team, I'd be tricking out everything... I can't conceptualize an owner of a football team being like, 'Our players don't get to eat on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.'

This is a subjective opinion on ownership quality.

Andy Dalton would be the perfect veteran backup for JJ McCarthy on the Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings. Like that would make a, he'd be the perfect guy for JJ McCarthy. He looks like a Viking... I kind of like the Vikings [for Dalton].

This depends on where Andy Dalton actually signs during the 2026 free agency period.

The 49ers will not trade Mac Jones because they like him too much as a backup for Brock Purdy

I don't think they're gonna trade Mac Jones. They just have not, they, they like him too much. And Brock Purdy runs around. He's an active guy and he's missed some time. And when Brock Purdy missed time, Mac [Jones] was able to step right in... I think they really like Mac Jones too much [to move him].

The 49ers' roster decisions for the 2026 season will determine if this holds true.

Miami should release Tua and eat the record $99 million cap hit all at once

I think they probably just have to wind up releasing [Tua]. And the question is, how do you wanna take your medicine? You wanna take it all at once. One year. 99.1 million. The largest cap hit in NFL history. You wanna spread it out, make him post June one... I would just take all my medicine all at once. If it were me.

This is an advisory opinion on how to handle the contract; the Dolphins' actual decision will reveal if they agree.
