Rob Manfred understands the MLB lockout is bad for business

Rob Manfred said, we understand it's bad for the business. So I'm going to probably take Rob Manfred's side because he said it right there in the article... that he understands this is bad for business.

OpinionBaseballMediumSarcastic
Correct in that Manfred literally said it, but satirical in application. The lockout did end up costing games eventually (postponing opening day), proving Manfred's actions didn't prevent 'bad business'.

Taysom Hill is probably not the Saints' quarterback of the future

Yeah, Taysom Hill probably not, probably not the quarterback of the future, but he's still, I still like Taysom.

Correct. Taysom Hill eventually transitioned back into a utility/tight end role under Dennis Allen, and the Saints moved on to Jameis Winston and later Derek Carr.

The Saints' season is officially over

I think [the Saints'] season is officially over just because we've... they've kind of kept in a lot of these games, even though they haven't [won]. But that Taysom Hill is just the whole entire offense. [Alvin] Kamara not being there, Michael Thomas just retiring early... the whole thing just feels like it's falling apart.

The Saints finished 9-8 and narrowly missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker with the Eagles.

Taysom Hill is the Nate Diaz of quarterbacks

Billy's take on Taysom Hill, by the way, was like, he's the Nate Diaz of quarterbacks where he's... he may not win, but you respect them... like he'll just straight up get his ass kicked... then afterwards you're like, he didn't stop running.

Subjective comparison between a quarterback and an MMA fighter based on 'grit' and lack of traditional polish.

The selection committee did a great job and correctly left out Oklahoma and Auburn

The selection committee has done their job, by the way, credits to selection committee. There was really no issues whatsoever... the first two out were Oklahoma and Auburn and they deserve to be out. Yeah, the bubble, the bubble sucked this year. Maybe an all time bad bubble.

The teams were indeed left out as of the show date.

Duke got screwed with their seeding as the number one overall seed

Duke kind of got fucked a little bit. As the number one overall, none of the best kill everyone. That's what I'm saying. Like if the, if the one knock that you have against the committee is that they kind of fucked over Duke. Like you did a great job committee credit to me.

Subjective opinion on bracket difficulty.

A 'Civil Conflict' second-round matchup between UCF and UConn is a real possibility

If [UCLA] doesn't come back and UCF wins and UConn wins, we got a civil conflict. We got a civil conflict in the second round. That's what I'm looking at.

UConn won the national title, but UCF did not advance to face them in the second round.
