LSU's roster depth will prevent them from falling off a map despite losing starters

They do have some really good players coming back because they recruited well... You'll be able to see how deep their recruiting has been in the last few years because they're going to roll out a 2D defensive line that they feel very comfortable with. I mean they've got talent, it's not like they're going to fall off the map.

LSU went 5-5 in 2020, which was a significant drop-off from their 15-0 championship season, though they didn't completely 'fall off the map' into irrelevance.

The NFL should require the highest-drafted quarterback to start behind Ryan Fitzpatrick for three games

They should make a rule that whoever drafts the highest quarterback has to start Fitzpatrick for at least three games at the start of the season. So like Trevor Lawrence when he goes to the Eagles, [Fitzpatrick] should have to start for them.

OpinionFootballMildSarcastic
The NFL did not implement such a rule, and Trevor Lawrence started immediately for the Jaguars.

Trey Lance will be a first-round NFL draft pick

Trey Lance is going to be a first rounder probably... This mock draft I'm reading right now has Trey Lance late in the first round to the [Saints].

Trey Lance was selected 3rd overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

I will cut off the tip of my pinky if the Houston Texans win the Super Bowl this year

If the Houston Texans win the Super Bowl this year, I will cut off from the nail up tip of my pinky left hand. It's on.

The Houston Texans finished 4-12 in 2020 and did not come close to the Super Bowl. Big Cat's pinky survived another year.

Indiana is the favorite to win the national championship among the remaining four teams

I think you'd have to call Indiana the favorite. I mean, they, they've been the most consistent all year long. They've played the best in the biggest games all year long. And that goes back to, to when they went to Eugene and beat Oregon.

Indiana was the favorite and won the national championship 27-21 over Miami, completing a 16-0 season.

If a college coach doesn't show significant improvement by Year 2, the hire was a failure

If your guy's not getting it done by year two, you blew the higher. That's, that's it. In this era, you blew the higher, if your guy's not good by year two... if you've got a coach te begging for patience, that's a coach who knows He's already cooked.

This is a philosophical take on sports management and remains subjective.

The Tennessee vs Oklahoma game is a playoff elimination game

I'd say the game that intrigues me most is a pure playoff elimination game in Knoxville... Tennessee, Oklahoma, absolute winner is alive, loser is dead. And the Oklahoma fans very down on Brent Venables. They'll love him if he wins.

Oklahoma lost and did fall out of playoff contention; Tennessee won and stayed alive.
