Rick Pitino will attend the Minnesota vs. Louisville game despite saying he won't

[Rick Pitino] swears he will not [be at the Minnesota vs. Louisville game], but that of course means he will. He will be sitting behind the Minnesota bench. He'll have on a Greek scarf. His hair will be fluffed up.

Rick Pitino did not attend the game; he remained in Greece where he was coaching Panathinaikos.

Eli Manning is still a good quarterback and the Giants know exactly what they're doing

This narrative that Eli [Manning] is overpaid and can't play is a crock. Dave Gettleman, the quote machine. Just wanted to get that out of the way. All you asking out there, the Giants know exactly what they're doing. Eli is still good.

Eli Manning was benched for Daniel Jones shortly into the 2019 season and retired afterward. He was statically one of the worse starters in the league at this point.

Sean McVay will turn Blake Bortles into the greatest quarterback of all time

Sean McVay is about to get his hands on that clay and mold [Blake Bortles] into the greatest quarterback of all time. Well, second. One and one A with him and Jared Goff. I'm so excited for the Bortles.

Bortles barely played for the Rams and was certainly not the greatest of all time.

The Rams will return to the Super Bowl with Blake Bortles hoisting the Lombardi trophy

Looking forward to the Rams going back to the Super Bowl. [Blake] Bortles hoisting that Lombardi trophy over his beautiful, beautiful, full head of hair.

The Rams lost in the Divisional Round in 2019, and Blake Bortles did not start a game.

The John Calipari era at Kentucky is likely over after the loss to Oakland

I think this might be worse [than the St. Peters loss]. It's terrible. You know, lose to St. Peters and Oakland, two of the last three years, and I think probably the end of the Calipari era. There's a really good chance. I mean, I don't think it's certain, but I think a lot of the fans want that.

Calipari ultimately left Kentucky for Arkansas a few weeks after this episode, confirming the 'end of the era' prediction.

It is no longer possible to win a National Championship relying primarily on freshmen in the NIL/Portal era

Cal needs to change back because Jay Wright tonight said it the best because of NIL. These dudes are staying in college longer... You're gonna see good players stay in college for three and four years. And I just don't know if you can win with freshmen anymore because these... two of the starters on Oakland were 24 years old. We're starting three guys that are 18. That's a big difference.

The 2024 champion UConn relied on experienced players and multi-year starters, supporting the trend Jones describes.

Kentucky should not hire a coach like Dana Altman because the program requires a 'rockstar' personality

I think at this job though... you have to be a rockstar to be at this job. Like this is a hard job in the state of Kentucky. This is what we do. ... So you can't be like, Dana Altman looks like an accountant. You can't be an accountant. You have to be a rockstar.

Kentucky eventually hired Mark Pope, a former player with strong ties to the program, who was seen more as a 'basketball fit' than a traditional national 'rockstar' hire like Pitino or Calipari.
