The Cowboys must sign Dak Prescott to an extension this year to manage the salary cap

I think they have to get something done with him. I mean, he's got a 59 and a half million dollars cap number. They want to get a big deal done with CD Lamb. They want to get a big deal done with Micah Parsons. They want to upgrade their roster. Jerry Jones himself has said they're all in. Well, how can you be all in if your quarterback is taking up that much of the cap? Right. And by the way, if you don't get it done with him, then after the season, you can't tag him. Right. So he could just leave.

Dak Prescott signed a 4-year, $240 million extension on September 8, 2024, just before the first game of the season, fulfilling Schefter's prediction.

You don't want your players to like their strength and conditioning coach

I don't think I'd want my players to give my strength and conditioning coach an A because don't you want like that guy to be the hardest person in the world on you? I think like, you kind of want to hate your strength coach a little bit, right? Like maybe you don't want an F but it getting like a C plus or a B, you want that guy to like push you to be super, super uncomfortable all the time.

This is a subjective philosophy on coaching and player development.

College football will eventually return to regional divisions after the playoff expansion

I still think it's gonna be no different than cable to streaming back to cable where we're bundling all the streaming. Now they're gonna get to a point where they just start making like regional divisions and it's gonna be like, well, okay, so Oregon, Washington USC and UCLA are in a division. Why don't we just call it the PAC four and then we'll get there and then we'll be happy.

The outcome is pending as conference realignment is currently trending toward national 'super-conferences' like the Big Ten and SEC.

Rob Gronkowski is the second greatest New England Patriot of all time

This player came in, changed everything, just vibes wise. He, he, you know, I think I was 18 or 19 when he, when he signed with the team. So as an 18, 19-year-old, he was everything. Rob Gronkowski, Gronk, spike, freaking nature, the most fun player, you know, non Tom Brady. Greatest tight end of all time. I think he might be the easiest player to root for if you're a fan of that team.

This is a subjective ranking of player legacy.

Andy Dalton would be the perfect veteran backup for JJ McCarthy on the Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings. Like that would make a, he'd be the perfect guy for JJ McCarthy. He looks like a Viking... I kind of like the Vikings [for Dalton].

This depends on where Andy Dalton actually signs during the 2026 free agency period.

Miami should release Tua and eat the record $99 million cap hit all at once

I think they probably just have to wind up releasing [Tua]. And the question is, how do you wanna take your medicine? You wanna take it all at once. One year. 99.1 million. The largest cap hit in NFL history. You wanna spread it out, make him post June one... I would just take all my medicine all at once. If it were me.

This is an advisory opinion on how to handle the contract; the Dolphins' actual decision will reveal if they agree.

The Seattle Seahawks will sell for $10 billion

Somebody told me $10 billion... You're buying the defending Super Bowl champion. That's never happened. Right? You're buying an organization that's run very well... It's a great buying opportunity.

The final sale price of the Seahawks will eventually verify this claim.
