West Virginia is a basketball school

I asked Scott this question, I'll ask it to you too. West Virginia, a basketball school or a football school? Basketball school. I think that's tradition.

This is a matter of fan perspective, though the basketball program has had more recent high-level success (Final Fours) compared to the football program's results in the Big 12 era.

Monte Sweat is a better player than Chase Young

Our defensive line played well. Monte Sweat is a monster. I actually think Monte Sweat is better than Chase Young. Even when Chase Young was healthy.

While Chase Young won DROY, Monte Sweat became a Pro Bowler and has been more productive and healthy, eventually leading to him being a highly valued trade asset for the Bears.

Dan Snyder is willing to take down the entire NFL with him if forced to sell

Dan Snyder's entire strategy is, if you take me out, I'm taking everybody out with you. And he is going to, Dan Snyder is willing to take down the entire NFL with him.

Snyder did eventually sell the team, but no major 'dirt' report that brought down the league materialized after his exit.

The Baltimore Ravens will win by 20 and the regression starts this week for the Giants and Jets

I think everyone's riding high on the Giants and the Jets. Honestly, I think maybe it's biased just living in New York and hearing the excitement... I don't think it's gonna happen. I think the regression starts this week. The Ravens win by 20.

The Giants beat the Ravens 24-20 on October 16, 2022. The Jets also won their game that week against the Packers. Regression did not start this week.

Kenyon Martin's comeback from a broken leg is one of the greatest feats in sports history

It blows my mind that a guy could like him, could break his leg and come back and play 11 years in the NBA... I'll bet you nobody's ever done that in the history of sports. With a broken leg and come back and... that's a lot of running, that's a lot of jumping and pounding.

While Martin had a great career, many athletes have returned from broken bones (e.g., Paul George, Joe Theismann's recovery attempt, or more recently Alex Smith). However, Martin's longevity as a high-flyer post-injury is remarkable.

Cincinnati would have won a national title in 2000 if Kenyon Martin didn't get hurt

I think anybody who doesn't [think we would have won] don't know anything about basketball. [I think about it] not more than four or five times a day.

This is a famous sports 'what if'. Cincy was the favorite, but since it didn't happen, it remains subjective.

Deflections are the most important stat when playing a press defense

Since we started pressing, it's deflections. Deflections is a sign of activity and energy. It's disruptive.

This is a coaching philosophy and a subjective valuation of a statistic.
