The Texans likely would have drafted Bryce Young if they had the #1 pick in 2023

If the Texans had lost that game and gotten the number one pick in that Draft, if that had happened, I think they might've taken Bryce Young. And I don't know if they would've traded the pick, which means Chicago wouldn't have Caleb Williams, which means they wouldn't be shopping Justin Fields this year.

This is a counterfactual historical claim that can never be definitively proven, though it aligns with draft-day reporting that the Panthers preferred Young.

NFL owners who purchase their teams provide better facilities than those who inherit them

Nine out of the top 10... excluding the Packers, were teams that the owner purchased the team. And then all the bad [NFLPA] grades essentially were teams where the owners inherited the team, basically fail sons and daughters who are driving whatever they inherited into the ground.

This is largely a subjective analysis of data, but the data cited regarding the top-graded teams (Dolphins, Vikings) vs. the bottom-graded teams (Commanders, Cardinals, etc.) generally supports his observation of 'purchased' vs 'inherited' ownership groups.

You don't want your players to like their strength and conditioning coach

I don't think I'd want my players to give my strength and conditioning coach an A because don't you want like that guy to be the hardest person in the world on you? I think like, you kind of want to hate your strength coach a little bit, right? Like maybe you don't want an F but it getting like a C plus or a B, you want that guy to like push you to be super, super uncomfortable all the time.

This is a subjective philosophy on coaching and player development.

NFL players hate their locker rooms because college facilities have spoiled them

My theory is that college locker rooms have gotten so out of control good that it's a step back when you go to the NFL. Like college coaches should be like, 'Yeah, you can go pro and make millions of dollars, but you don't get the barber chair.'

This is a subjective theory on player psychology and facility expectations.

Andy Dalton would be the perfect veteran backup for JJ McCarthy on the Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings. Like that would make a, he'd be the perfect guy for JJ McCarthy. He looks like a Viking... I kind of like the Vikings [for Dalton].

This depends on where Andy Dalton actually signs during the 2026 free agency period.

The 49ers will not trade Mac Jones because they like him too much as a backup for Brock Purdy

I don't think they're gonna trade Mac Jones. They just have not, they, they like him too much. And Brock Purdy runs around. He's an active guy and he's missed some time. And when Brock Purdy missed time, Mac [Jones] was able to step right in... I think they really like Mac Jones too much [to move him].

The 49ers' roster decisions for the 2026 season will determine if this holds true.

Miami should release Tua and eat the record $99 million cap hit all at once

I think they probably just have to wind up releasing [Tua]. And the question is, how do you wanna take your medicine? You wanna take it all at once. One year. 99.1 million. The largest cap hit in NFL history. You wanna spread it out, make him post June one... I would just take all my medicine all at once. If it were me.

This is an advisory opinion on how to handle the contract; the Dolphins' actual decision will reveal if they agree.
