Darren Rovell owns MLK and black history memorabilia just to turn a profit later

You own a piece of history that shows like when Martin Luther king was in jail... and you owned it to turn a profit one day, because that's what he does with all of his memorabilia.

The motivation behind collecting is subjective, though Rovell often discusses the 'value' of his items.

The Arizona Cardinals are frauds

The Arizona Cardinals are frauds, absolute frauds. I've been... this podcast has been forefront in the Arizona Cardinals are frauds for the better half of two months now. Kliff Kingsbury fades down the stretch. Kyler Murray... they just don't, they're just not an upper echelon football team.

The Cardinals finished 11-6 but lost 4 of their last 5 regular-season games and were demolished in the Wild Card round, supporting the 'fraud' label.

Kyler Murray has gotten slower, softer, and shorter

Kyler Murray has gotten slower, softer, and shorter... he was getting chased down from behind by guys that were about 150 pounds heavier than him on a regular basis.

Hot TakeFootballHotSarcastic
While he didn't literally get shorter, his performance metrics and mobility were widely criticized during the late-season collapse.

The Cardinals were so bad that Matthew Stafford couldn't screw the game up

The Cardinals are so bad tonight, not even Matthew Stafford can fuck this up... It got so like, I'm not even saying when it was whatever it was, the score was a, what? 21 was the 28. Nothing yet. I'm not even saying then I'm saying when it was 14, nothing. I was like, the Cardinals are so bad that Matthew Stafford cannot screw this up.

Stafford won the game 34-11 with a 154.5 passer rating, and the Cardinals indeed looked non-competitive.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
