Firing Mike McCarthy mid-season was the right move for the Packers

I actually I think this is the right move just because that team clearly has quit on him... The Packers were so clearly going to fire him. Why not just put everyone out of their misery? This actually probably helps Mike McCarthy. He can go get another job now.

The Packers eventually hired Matt LaFleur and saw immediate success, while McCarthy took a year off before joining the Cowboys, supporting the idea that the split was necessary.

Melvin Gordon is the first or second best running back in the NFL

Melvin Gordon is like, I think – if not the best running back, probably the second best running back right now in the NFL.

In 2018, Todd Gurley and Christian McCaffrey were arguably better, and Saquon Barkley was a sensation, making Gordon top 2 a stretch even then.

I'm officially 'Done Chaining' the Carolina Panthers

I want to dun-chain the Panthers... The Panthers at 6-6 could easily catch someone and still get in the playoffs, but I honestly— Done chain them. I'm done chaining them. They're done. They don't have any fight. They look like shit.

The Panthers finished the 2018 season 7-9 and missed the playoffs, losing 7 of their final 8 games. Big Cat was exactly right.

The Houston Texans are a 'Team of Destiny' to win the Super Bowl

I said to you, by the end of the season, they will have so many stickers and patches on their uniforms and helmets because of all these people dying that are associated with the Texans... This is a team of destiny. They're really good.

The Texans lost in the Wild Card round to the Colts (21-7), so they were not a team of destiny for the Super Bowl.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
