Losing to UMBC is a win for Virginia fans because it replaces the Ralph Sampson loss as the most notable upset in school history

I've got a spin zone for you. ... People are not going to probably talk about Ralph Sampson and the Chaminade loss now that Virginia has a more notable loss.

While subjective, the UMBC loss did largely supersede the Chaminade loss in the national consciousness as Virginia's most famous defeat.

College basketball teams should foul earlier because college players cannot hit free throws

The one thing that pisses me off this entire tournament... the fact that teams won't extend games. You should make kids shoot free throws in college. They can't hit free throws. And we saw that later with Kentucky.

Statistically, college free-throw percentages are lower than NBA ones, and in this specific tournament, several games turned on missed free throws (like Kentucky).

Calipari remained the head coach at Kentucky for six more years until moving to Arkansas in 2024.

I guess we have to smash the fraud button on Gonzaga. Always a bridesmaid, never a Cinderella.

Gonzaga has reached two national championship games (2017, 2021) but has yet to win a title, supporting the 'bridesmaid' part of the take.

I'll say Texas win, Ryan Day choke. The play calling, I don't know, maybe they got too conservative. I think they probably did.

The USC game will be massive. If Oregon loses that game, they're probably out.
