Pat Shurmur is a terrible coach and should be fired

I think [Pat Shurmur] is a terrible, terrible head coach and I think he should be fired... Eli Manning was essentially like a body shield for Pat Shurmur... Daniel Jones seems to be pretty good, you have Saquon Barkley, you had [Evan] Engram back, Golden Tate and you stink.

Pat Shurmur was indeed fired at the end of the 2019 season after going 4-12.

The Detroit Lions' season is already effectively over

The Lions season might be Signed Sealed Delivered halfway through October as they're all out of ammo.

The Lions finished the 2019 season with a 3-12-1 record, placing last in the NFC North.

The Philadelphia Eagles are done

The Eagles might be done... they stink... I thought the Eagles were going to win straight to me too. But their defense is atrocious.

The Eagles recovered to finish 9-7, winning the NFC East and making the playoffs.

The Falcons are the worst team in the NFL

Are the Falcons maybe the worst team in the NFL? See they still have that lingering sense of they were winning in the Super Bowl a couple years ago... but they are really, really bad. Their defense is one of the worst I've ever seen.

The Falcons finished 7-9. While they were bad early, the Bengals (2-14) and Dolphins (5-11) were statistically worse.

The Brewers' pressure created their 'lucky' breaks

That's not luck. That's just the Brewers and what they did to you mentally, where it's like you have to be perfect and almost made teams just become a worse version of themselves because of what the Brewers were doing to them.

This is an evaluative baseball argument rather than a claim with one definitive result.

The Bears are building around Jeffrey Simmons correctly

Jeffrey Simmons is an absolute game wrecker. Top three at his position, changes everyone around him. The Bears had a weakness in their defense, especially run defense. They made it a strength.

The assessment of Simmons' impact and positional ranking is partly subjective and will depend on his Chicago performance.

Jeffrey Simmons makes the Bears Super Bowl contenders

I thought they could win the Super Bowl before Jeffrey Simmons. Now I really do.

The 2026 NFL season and Super Bowl outcome have not yet been resolved from the episode date.
