Peyton Manning is not actually funny

Why have we decided that Peyton Manning is funny? Because he's a decent actor for an athlete. Okay, because I'm done with thinking Peyton Manning's funny. It's the same thing every time... SNL where he was throwing the balls at the little kids 15 years ago, and from that point forward, we've been like, that Peyton Manning, he's very funny. But it's not funny.

Manning's career in comedy/broadcasting (ManningCast) has only grown, making this a classic contrarian take that most fans would disagree with.

Giancarlo Stanton is a bum

Giancarlo Stanton, I'm ready to say he's a bum. No pinstripes for you, Giancarlo. If it were an April game between the Miami Marlins and the Atlanta Braves, I'm sure you would have hit a home run in a big spot.

Stanton's tenure with the Yankees remained controversial with fans due to injuries and postseason streaks, though 'bum' is a subjective harsh label for a former MVP.

An 8-8 record will win the NFC East in 2018

However, the NFC East is an absolute dumpster fire. I'm pretty sure 8-8 wins it, and you're playing against the Eagles at home on Thursday night. If you win that game, you now are the favorite to win the NFC East.

The Dallas Cowboys won the NFC East with a 10-6 record in 2018, while the second-place Eagles were 9-7. 8-8 would not have been enough to win the division.

The Yankees should fire Aaron Boone because anyone would be better

You probably should fire Aaron Boone, and you will get someone better than him because everyone is better than him. Anyone. Luis Severino bringing him out for the fourth inning in game three on Monday night was maybe the most inexcusable thing I've ever seen a manager do.

Boone was not fired after the 2018 season and actually stayed for many years, though he remained a frequent target of fan ire.

Shohei Ohtani currently holds both MLB's longest active on-base streak AND longest active scoreless innings streak simultaneously

As of Wednesday, with Shohei Ohtani getting on base and throwing six scoreless innings today, MLB's longest active on-base streak is now up to 43 games. MLB's longest active scoreless innings streak among starting pitchers is now 28.2 innings pitched. Shohei Ohtani has both of them. That's insane.

Big Cat self-corrects noting the scoreless innings streak ended that day, but the 43-game on-base streak was accurate as stated. The core claim about Ohtani's dual dominance was real at the time.

Chet Holmgren has never been anything but a one-seed in his entire basketball career

Do you know that Chet Holmgren in his entire basketball career has never been anything but a one seed while playing? In high school at Minnehaha Academy 2018, one seed; 2019, one seed; 2021, one seed; Gonzaga 2022, he was a one seed; 2023 he missed the NBA season with an injury; and then 2024, 2025, and now this year with the Oklahoma City Thunder, one seed, every single team he's played for has been a one seed.

This checks out — Holmgren's teams have consistently been one seeds throughout his career. The OKC Thunder were indeed a one seed in 2026.

Nikola Jokic holds the fastest triple double in NBA history at 14 minutes and 33 seconds

Jokic holds the record for fastest triple double in NBA history, achieving the feat in just 14 minutes and 33 seconds. The previous record was 17 minutes in 1955.

This stat appears to be AI-generated and potentially inaccurate — the fastest triple double records are hard to verify precisely, and the '1955' comparison seems dubious. Marking as pending since this is a specific verifiable claim that's hard to confirm.
