The Steelers cannot bench Justin Fields for Russell Wilson as long as they are winning

It feels like he's [Fields] kind of rounding into form to being a winning quarterback... I personaly would not [bench him]... you cannot bench a three and oh quarterback... You gotta wait until something bad happens and like he has a bad game and then maybe make a switch.

Mike Tomlin eventually did bench a winning Justin Fields for Russell Wilson in Week 7, and the team improved, proving Big Cat's 'you cannot' rule wrong in this specific instance.

The start of the 2024 season proves that coaching matters more than anything else in the NFL

The big picture for me before we get into all the games is Sam Darnold's three and oh, Geno Smith's three and oh... this start of the 2024 season has just been a red blinking light of coaching matters a lot.

The season-long success of Sam Darnold and Jared Goff, contrasted with the struggles of highly-drafted QBs in poor systems, generally supported this theme throughout 2024.

Kevin O'Connell is one of the best coaches in the NFL

Minnesota might have one of the best coaches in the league. Yes. And I would also put McVay's performance this week right up there too.

O'Connell led the Vikings to a surprisingly successful season and is widely regarded as a top-tier offensive mind.

Nick Sirianni does not deserve to be let off the hook for his poor coaching despite the Eagles' win

I'm hoping that Max doesn't let [Sirianni] off the hook. Yeah. He doesn't deserve to be left off the hook. They won the game and they were the better team in this game... That was a horrible display of coaching from him today.

Subjective opinion on coaching performance.

The goal allowed by the US goalie was the most embarrassing possible

What about the goalie? Yeah, I mean he... that was the most embarrassing goal that I've ever seen. Possible.

While subjective, the blunder by the US goalkeeper (Freeze/Turner) was widely mocked as a 'MAC football' level mistake.

The USMNT is the 'James Franklin Penn State' of soccer

People were making very mean jokes online that we were James Franklin, Penn State. And it is actually perfectly appropriate because if you look at who we played, we beat the teams we're supposed to beat... and then we absolutely got ass fucked by the team that was better than us in Belgium. We are not who we thought we were.

Subjective comparison.

We just suck at soccer as a country and that's okay

My take is we suck at soccer and that's okay. Like, I don't care that we suck at soccer anymore. I'm going to root for the US team. I'm gonna get excited when we're in a World Cup. I'm gonna get hyped up and it's gonna be fun to watch. And then I'm gonna be reminded that we suck at soccer and that it's just gonna be like, okay, yeah, that's okay.
