Dion Waiters is guaranteed an NBA championship ring because he played for both the Lakers and the Heat this season

Dion Waiters... he's guaranteed to get a ring because he was on the Heat earlier in the season [and is now on the Lakers]. I'm guaranteed to get a ring regardless of who wins.

Waiters played for both the Heat and Lakers during the 2019-20 season. The Lakers won, and Waiters received a ring.

The Baltimore Ravens are frauds until they can win from behind

The Baltimore Ravens are frauds. They are F-R-A-U-D-S frauds. They panic, they look terrible on Monday Night Football. The stat was 18 and 0 with a ten-point lead, 0 and 5 with a ten-point deficit. They can't come from behind. They're very good team, but kind of like Oregon back in the day with Chip Kelly... until I see it, I don't trust that the Ravens offense can work when it gets in a hole.

The Ravens finished 11-5 and won a playoff game but were eliminated in the Divisional round after falling behind the Bills, somewhat validating the 'play from behind' critique.

The Baltimore Ravens are the Houston Rockets of the NFL

Are the Baltimore Ravens the Houston Rockets of the NFL? Their analytics are Mickey Mouse-ish. By any objective measurement the Baltimore Ravens are awesome... and then in the playoffs the Chiefs are going to beat them by 40. They shit pump all the bad teams, but when the chips are down... they fall short.

Both teams at the time were known for high-efficiency regular seasons and early playoff exits against the eventual champions.

I agree that the 3-0 Bears are frauds and not an exceptional team

I have a lot of Ravens fans be like, 'dude, the Bears are frauds.' I agree that they [the Bears] kind of are. I don't think the Bears are like an exceptional team. I won't apologize for three and oh, while also thinking like, 'yeah, this might not end so well.'

The 2020 Bears started 5-1 but finished 8-8 and were widely regarded as a mediocre team that lucked into a playoff spot.

Nate Oats needs to teach his players to never let the police look through their phones

Let the Aden Holloway situation be a reminder to everybody that you don't have to let the police look through your phone. I actually point the finger at Nate Oats for this, because Nate Oats, you gotta do a better job of explaining the first through fifth amendments to your players. Given the history that you've had... day one you should have a, get the guys from Morgan & Morgan to come in and be like, 'Do not talk to the police if you're in trouble. Shut the fuck up.'

This is a satirical advice piece and commentary on Nate Oats' coaching responsibilities.

Mark Pope is on the hot seat at Kentucky after this tournament performance

Mark Pope on the hot seat. I think he is. I mean, I think they're gonna bring him back. I think he's safe for this year, but I think he's going into next year. Seat is warm.

Pending — Mark Pope's job status at Kentucky after the 2025-26 season is not yet resolved.

Every major college coaching opening should start by calling Brad Stevens and making him say no

You gotta make him say no. You gotta call Brad Stevens and make him say no. I will personally never stop saying that. He probably wakes up every morning and says no. Voicemail just says, 'Thank you so much for the consideration, but it's gonna be a no.' It would be shocking if he ever took another college job.

This is an opinion on coaching search strategy.
