Jacoby Brissett is an eight-win quarterback guy under the radar

[Jacoby Brissett] is a good quarterback. He'll get you probably eight wins if he starts the entire season... I'm just saying Jacoby Brissett feels like an eight-win quarterback guy under the radar.

The Patriots finished the 2024 season 4-13. Brissett started roughly half the games but did not reach 8 wins.

I'm not gonna get FOMO about Drake Maye not starting. Our offensive line's bad. I think our roster's not great. It's okay. It's a rebuilding year. I think you let's embrace it for what it is.

Patrick Mahomes would be worth over $100 million a year on a truly free market

If the NFL was truly free market capitalism, [Mahomes] might go to the Panthers. David Tepper... he might go for over a hundred million dollars.

The NFL should have a separate salary bucket for quarterbacks to keep rosters competitive

Separate salary bucket for quarterbacks. That makes sense. Basically let the quarterbacks get paid something completely separate so it doesn't, again, the cap is, doesn't make sense, but they're so out of control compared to everything else.

This is a policy recommendation/opinion.

The Chiefs will never win three Super Bowls in a row

Three in a row is really fucking hard to do... kind of the way you could also talk about it is there's 0% chance because it's never happened before. And if you know anything about gambling or life, if something's never happened, it will never happen.

I think this might be a narrative year with Matthew Stafford where it's like, you know, one of those, 'Hey, do we appreciate him enough?' 30 to 1 that when you watch that [late season] game, it's gonna be 5 to 1.

You don't have to draft a wide receiver until the fifth round

There are so many talented wide receivers in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth rounds that we don't have to draft wide receivers until the fifth round. Now if one comes up in like... if Garrett Wilson is there at the end of the second round, you've gotta take him. But I don't think we're gonna touch a wide receiver till the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth rounds.

The 2024 season saw significant injuries to early-round WRs (A.J. Brown, Puka Nacua), making mid-round depth more valuable, though many mid-round targets Jerry mentions (Keenan Allen, Higgins) struggled with health or consistency early on.

Quick analytics question for you. You're down 14 and it's the fourth quarter and you score with three and a half minutes left. Are you going for two or are you kicking the extra point? ... It's a math thing... The book would tell you to go for two so if you don't get it, you have more time to try to do it again.

Mathematically, going for two when down 14 is the optimal strategy for winning in regulation, though Freeman prefers overtime.
