Booger McFarland and Kedon Slovis on NFL MVP, Week 14 Preview, and Cali Bros
The Patriots dynasty is officially over, and the guys are wasting no time performing the autopsy. After a dismal Thursday night performance where the Rams dominated from start to finish, Big Cat was ready to read the last rites.
While the Patriots look like a shell of themselves, Sean McVay's squad looks poised for a deep run. Big Cat is buying high on the Rams' balance and defensive intensity, even if McVay still seems a little too happy-go-lucky on the sideline.
As for Cam Newton, the experiment in New England is trending toward a sad conclusion. PFT and Big Cat debated if Cam’s physical decline is simply too much to overcome, leading to a bold prediction about his future in the league.
Cam Newton might retire after this season
I don't know, I think Cam Newton might retire after this year.
Week 14 Preview and Fantasy Fuccbois
It’s time to start savoring these moments because the football schedule is finally bottom-heavy. Big Cat reminded everyone to take a deep breath and realize there’s more football behind us than ahead of us. The Week 14 slate features some heavy hitters, but the guys aren't buying the hype on everyone.
Meanwhile, PFT continues to bang the drum for Tom Brady and the Bucs, despite their inconsistencies. He believes the raw personnel in Tampa is still the gold standard for the league.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the most talented team in the NFL
I'm going to go to my deathbed saying this. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the most talented team in the NFL.
In the Fantasy Fuccbois segment, the alter-egos returned with smelling salts and questionable advice. Frankie Fettuccine and Jonos Malignantanos broke down why Paul George (Playoff P) is delusional for thinking he's in MVP form, while PFT advocated for letting Chris Carson eat in Seattle.
Booger McFarland on Dr. Heat and the MVP Race
Our good friend Booger McFarland joined the show to discuss everything from Boomer’s nickname war room to the current state of the Jets. Booger brought a spicy conspiracy theory regarding Gregg Williams’ final defensive call for the Jets, suggesting Dr. Heat might have been trying to sabotage Adam Gase on his way out.
Greg Williams called the cover zero blitz on purpose to spite Adam Gase
I think he did it on purpose based on the fact that he and Adam Gase just don't get along. ... The only way you lose that game is to make the call that Greg Williams made. And I just think that Greg wanted Adam Gase to wear 0-16 on his resume.
Booger also weighed in on the MVP race, taking a stance that had Big Cat ready to fight. While Mahomes remains the most talented player in the world, Booger thinks the award belongs to a different veteran.
Aaron Rodgers is the 2020 NFL MVP over Patrick Mahomes
Rodgers right now is putting up career numbers. ... If we're going to judge the MVP based off what you've done and how great you've been, don't we have to judge Mahomes off what he did his MVP year... I think Mahomes has entered the LeBron category whereas he's clearly the best player in the league... but it's not a career year for him.
He also gave some hope to the Giants fans in the building, praising Joe Judge for actually being his own man and creating a defensive identity that could steal a weak division.
The Giants will win the NFC East if Daniel Jones stays healthy
If old Peyton Manning clone Daniel Jones can stay healthy, man, they'll win that division.
Kedon Slovis Joins the QB Room
USC quarterback Kedon Slovis stopped by to be officially groomed for his future as a first-round pick. The guys discussed his tuba-playing past, working with Kurt Warner in high school, and his transition from an Arizona three-star recruit to the face of Southern Cal football. Slovis didn't hold back when describing the difference between his home state and his new home.
Arizona bros want to be California bros, but they're just not.
I feel like Arizona wants to be California, but they're just not. They're not. That's the only way to describe it. They think they're West Coast, but they're just really too far east to be [it].
Slovis also proved he has the confidence needed for the next level, promising that his 40-time will silence the critics who think his last name is a description of his play style.
I will run a sub-4.8 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine
I ran a 4.79 when I was in high school. ... I think we can easy target for [sub-4.8].
We wrapped things up with a Billghazi update and Fyre Fest, where Jake Marsh mourned the future loss of the greatest theme song in sports history.
Losing the SEC on CBS theme song is a tragedy for college football
On behalf of all college football fans, we are losing the SEC on CBS theme song in 2024.
If the SEC on CBS music leaves us, college football might never feel the same again.
