Dak Prescott and the Best of Kentucky Sports Radio Callers
The World Cup fever has officially reached a boiling point. Big Cat and PFT Commenter are fully locked into the Messi versus Ronaldo debate, finding it even more entertaining than the MJ versus LeBron discourse because these guys are actually on the pitch at the same time.
The Messi vs. Ronaldo debate is more contentious than LeBron vs. Jordan because they play at the same time
This debate [Messi vs. Ronaldo] I would say is like a little bit more contentious actually. Because they're playing at the same time. And they play against each other sometimes. So I don't like that as much as the hypothetical debates, because you can twist all the facts around.
While Argentina is surviving by the skin of their teeth thanks to Maradona’s questionable stadium energy, Big Cat is looking ahead to the powerhouse nations. He’s putting all his chips on the favorites to handle business in the group stage.
Germany will score a billion goals against South Korea and advance in the World Cup
Germany, of course, is going to advance. They're going to score a billion goals against whichever team they're playing... South Korea? They'll score a million goals. Germany will advance.
Mount Rushmore of Sports Sounds
The guys got nostalgic with a Mount Rushmore of Sports Sounds. From the 'swish' of a net to the 'crack of the bat,' the list covered the essentials. Big Cat went deep on the psychological warfare of silent away crowds, arguing that silencing a stadium is the ultimate high.
Taking a game on the road and ripping the heart out of the opponent's fans is the best feeling in sports
Taking a game on the road and ripping your opponent's heart out in front of their fans, there's nothing like it in all the sports.
Hot Seat/Cool Throne
Hank put Bryson DeChambeau on the Hot Seat after the PGA Tour started investigating him for using a compass on the course. It’s peak golf stuff to turn a basic navigation tool into a federal crime.
The PGA Tour is ridiculous for investigating Bryson DeChambeau for using a compass
[Speaker 1] (16:38-16:41) My hot seat is Bryson DeChambeau. [Speaker 1] (16:41-16:47) The PGA Tour is investigating him and trying to figure out whether it was legal of him to use a compass or not. [Speaker 1] (16:48-16:49) What century are we in? [Speaker 3] (17:16-17:21) I love this that it's a compass is now an illegal tool in golf.
Meanwhile, the NBA free agency rumors are swirling, specifically regarding the Lakers. Big Cat is convinced that a certain duo is heading to Tinseltown to revive the franchise.
Paul George is going to sign with the Lakers
[Speaker 3] (25:30-25:31) My cool throne is the Lakers. [Speaker 3] (25:34-25:38) And Paul George is going to L.A. to take a meeting. [Speaker 3] (27:55-27:58) Yeah, I think Paul George is going to L.A.
He isn't just stopping at Paul George, though. The logic is simple: if the first domino falls in Los Angeles, the King is sure to follow.
LeBron James will sign with the Lakers if Paul George goes there first
[Speaker 3] (27:58-28:02) I think if Paul George goes to L.A., LeBron is very fast behind him. [Speaker 3] (28:13-28:18) But the minute one of those two guys [George or Kawhi] goes to L.A., [LeBron] is going to L.A.
Dak Prescott Joins the Show
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott joined the show to promote his Ready, Raise, Rise campaign. It was an interview that Big Cat and PFT admit felt a bit like pulling teeth. Dak had been through a gauntlet of media appearances and seemed to have his guard up from the jump.
During the sit-down, Dak reflected on his time at Mississippi State and the intensity of the SEC. Despite playing in the NFL's biggest markets, he still thinks the college game holds the crown for toughest environments.
Playing a road game in the SEC is harder than playing a road game in the NFL
[Speaker 2] (34:31-34:32) Oh, I don't know. [Speaker 2] (34:32-34:33) Probably playing a road game in the SEC. [Speaker 2] (34:33-34:38) SEC is just a little bit louder, more passionate fans.
When asked about his favorite owner, Dak played it safe, giving Jerry Jones a glowing review despite the eccentricities fans see from the outside.
Jerry Jones is great and nobody dislikes him
Jerry Jones is a great owner. I don't think he'll find anybody that works or plays for the Dallas Cowboys that dislikes Jerry Jones. He's great.
Things took a weird turn when the guys asked Dak about his favorite color. Most people say blue or red; Dak went with something a bit more muted, which left Big Cat genuinely baffled.
My favorite color is gray — all different shades of gray
[Speaker 2] (46:32) Gray. [Speaker 2] (46:46-46:48) Yeah, gray. All different shades of gray.
The interview ended on a legendary note—at least for the listeners. Dak didn't realize the line was still active after the goodbyes and gave his honest assessment to his PR team.
Dak forgot to hang up -- told his publicist the interview was 'terrible'
The best part about the Dak Prescott interview was when we finished the interview, we said, okay, see you later. And he didn't hang up. And then his PR person was like, hey, how'd that go, Dak? And he just goes, Terrible. They asked me about a porn star.
Kentucky Sports Radio and More
The guys shared the best moments from their annual takeover of Kentucky Sports Radio. The highlight was undoubtedly Shirley, an 80-year-old caller who lives by the creek and somehow knows who Howie Mandel is despite not owning a TV. We also met Butch, a man who got saved and no longer drinks, though PFT tried to find common ground through other vices.
To wrap things up, Big Cat doubled down on the LeBron to L.A. rumors based on some cryptic social media activity from LeBron's inner circle.
LeBron is definitely going to the Lakers
LeBron's really good friend, Cuffs the Legend... Tonight he has tweeted... staying up late for West Coast NBA games is going to take some time to adapt to... LeBron to L.A. That's all we'll say. As first reported by us.
If the move actually happens, remember you heard it here first, even if we had to go through a 'terrible' Dak Prescott interview to get there.
