The trade deadline is looming and the Dodgers have officially broken the sport of baseball. Big Cat and PFT are convinced that Tarik Skubal heading to Los Angeles is the final straw for the current CBA. It’s reached the point where the guys are actually siding with the owners just to get some semblance of parity back.

MLB owners are intentionally colluding to let the Dodgers acquire every star to force a salary cap in the next CBA.

I think that a lockout's gonna happen... this is just all collusion and the owners are just letting the Dodgers get these guys because everyone is going to get to the new CBA and be like, how can we not have a lockout? The Dodgers are gonna win it every single year under the current circumstances.

Pending future MLB CBA negotiations.

PFT is even more dire, predicting that the looming labor war might just be the end of the road for the national pastime altogether.

The 2026 MLB season will be the last season of baseball ever due to the impending lockout

This might be the last year of baseball of all time. Get ready to learn lockout baby. The Dodgers ruined baseball.

While a lockout is a real threat, the claim that baseball will cease to exist is satirical exaggeration.

Training Camp Heat and Tony Romo on Ice

Football is officially back in the air, and that means it's time for the annual tradition of overanalyzing training camp clips. Max is already fully bought in on the Jalen Hurts revenge tour, making some massive statistical projections for the Eagles' receiving corps.

DeVonta Smith will have 1,800 receiving yards for the Eagles this season.

Jalen Hurts is gonna have a great year... DeVonta Smith might have 1,800 yards. Birds are gonna be good.

Pending the 2026 NFL season stats.

While the players are getting ready, the broadcast booths are in shambles. Tony Romo is reportedly on the bench for Week 1, and Big Cat thinks the writing is on the wall for the former Cowboys quarterback at CBS.

Tony Romo is likely done at CBS with JJ Watt poised to take over the lead role

Tony Romo is now no longer as of right now going to be calling games. At least for week one. JJ Watt has taken his place. I feel like this might be it for Tony Romo with CBS.

Depends on whether Romo returns to the lead chair later in the season.

We also checked in on some potential moves for our favorite Swiss Army Knife, Taysom Hill. With Sean Payton lurking in Denver, PFT thinks the reunion is inevitable.

Taysom Hill will sign with the Denver Broncos before the end of the week.

When he did his goodbye to the Saints, immediately he was like, yeah, I know, I know one coach that's probably gonna give him a call. Sean Payton is absolutely in love with Taysom Hill, so yeah. I'm sure he'll be a Bronco before the week's over.

Pending the rest of the week's NFL free agency news.

Dan Lanning: The Drive for a Natty

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning joined the show to discuss the Ducks' entry into the Big Ten. He’s a guy who once drove 13 hours through the night to talk his way into a GA job at Pitt, and that same intensity is clearly fueling the program in Eugene. While he tried to play it cool on the "championship or bust" narrative, he eventually admitted the Ducks have the roster to go all the way.

The Oregon Ducks are fully capable of winning the national championship this season.

I wouldn't say [championship or bust]. I would say be the best version of us... I wanna be the best team we can possibly be. So that would be championship. There's championship. I do think we have a team that's really capable for sure.

Pending the 2026 College Football Playoff.

Lanning also addressed the viral pregame speeches and his collection of tattoos, though he wouldn't commit to a "tribal" sleeve just yet. He’s lean, mean, and ready to dominate the new-look Big Ten.

Matt Rhule: Regular Guy Energy

Nebraska's Matt Rhule came on to talk about the turnaround in Lincoln. He’s a self-described "regular guy" who wears short-sleeved cage jackets and isn't afraid to put the pads on for a Bull in the Ring drill if it means his team plays more physically. Rhule broke down why the Nebraska DNA requires a certain level of violence at the line of scrimmage, even if the rules have taken away his favorite offensive schemes.

Nebraska would run the triple option if cut blocks were still legal

They've outlawed cut blocks, so I would run the option right now. I mean, it is the perfect place to do that. Back in the day they cut that guy and the ball would go for 80 and we go for like eight. So, but we have to lean into... the DNA of Nebraska is to be the most physical team on the field.

This is a tactical opinion about the impact of rules on offensive schemes.

He also gave us the backstory on his infamous NFL owners' meeting outfit—the one where his pants looked like they had never seen an iron. Rhule's philosophy is simple: he’s not there to look pretty in a $2,000 suit; he’s there to win football games.

Who’s Back and the Mount Rushmore of Misery

Who’s Back featured a heavy dose of Kendrick Perkins being an absolute visionary for his NBA rankings and Hank's glowing review of the new Christopher Nolan flick.

Christopher Nolan's new film 'Odyssey' is a top-five movie in his entire catalog.

Odyssey is good... I saw it last Sunday night after we recorded, didn't fall asleep during it. Top five Nolan movie... And the more, you know, the farther away I got from it, the more I've been thinking about it. And I will definitely watch it again.

Movie rankings are subjective.

Kendrick Perkins is a 'really sharp guy' with incredibly well-reasoned NBA takes, as evidenced by ranking the Wizards top five in the East.

Kendrick Perkins. Big Perk back on TV doing his analyst thing. He's a really sharp guy. Very sharp guy... The one thing that you might say about Perk is he might have, you know, some bias where he will openly root for the Celtics. Sometimes he's like, shows him a little too much favor. So he dropped his top five list in the east... Number one in the east, 76ers... Number two in the east, the Knicks. Number three in the east, the Hawks. Number four in the east, the Heat. Number five in the east, your Washington Wizards.

PFT's belief about Perkins is subjective.

To wrap things up, the crew tackled the Mount Rushmore of Worst Places Your Wife or Girlfriend Takes You. It was one of the most contentious segments in recent memory, mostly because PFT tried to draft "into a fight" as a physical location. Max, however, stayed grounded in reality by targeting the specific hell that is a mandated fitness session.

The 'workout class' is one of the worst places a wife or girlfriend can take a man.

Workout class... If they bring you to a yoga, a pilates, it's the worst. Men need to go to the gym to like do, go on the treadmill for like 15 minutes and then sit at a bench and work out... you do a set and then you scroll on your phone and then you do another. That's how men go to the gym. The workout class is for the chicks.

Subjective opinion on working out.

Between shopping trips, marriage counseling, and the abortion clinic, it was a grim look at domestic life that reminded us all why we prefer staying on the couch for 12 hours of football on Sundays.

If the Dodgers really did ruin baseball, at least we have Dan Lanning’s juice and Matt Rhule’s dad-bod collection to get us through the fall.

The Arizona Cardinals will easily hit the over on their 3.5 win total despite heavy tanking narratives.

The Cardinals having an over under win total of two and a half... oh three and a half. I might have to take this all over. They don't have any tape on Lalo, that's the thing. And they have Jeremiah Love who should've won Heisman.

Ben Johnson would easily beat up every member of the Sean McVay coaching tree in a physical fight.

They all hate Ben Johnson, which I fucking love. The McVay mafia... They would wanna fight Ben Johnson if they could. Like they don't want to like gang up and beat... Ben Johnson would beat all their asses.

Inherently subjective and unlikely to ever actually happen.

The 76ers superteam of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown will be unstoppable

The Sixers haven't won shit. You guys are gonna be so sick when they win. Jalen Brown, LeBron... once they win the ship.

The Sixers' championship success is a testable outcome for the 2026-27 season.
