The punt is the most important play in football

No, I've said it's [the punt] the most important play. All right, the most important play.

This is a subjective coaching philosophy, though analytics-heavy modern fans would strongly disagree.

Adam Morrison has an apocalypse bunker and is fully equipped for the end of the world

The guy is fully equipped if there was an apocalypse. He's got food stashed in the way, everything. So he could survive anything. He's got guns... He's got a bunker, everything. He's a pro.

Adam Morrison later clarified on the show that he does have survivalist interests and supplies, but the 'bunker' part was somewhat exaggerated myth-making.

Danny Woodhead will join the Patriots to mentor Christian McCaffrey

Until the end of the league year, [Danny Woodhead] is still a Charger. And then he'll be a Patriot where he'll mentor Christian McCaffrey.

Woodhead joined the Ravens in 2017, and McCaffrey was drafted by the Panthers. Neither ended up on the Patriots in 2017.

Benchining a player for being too fat isn't discrimination if they were already heavy when they signed

They accepted [Pablo Sandoval] as being a loud ass when they signed him. He was heavy. So they didn't discriminate in the beginning. And so they will accept him the way he was, but it turned out that he couldn't hit his weight.

This is a subjective interpretation of labor law and discrimination in professional sports.

Penn State is the toughest Big Ten stadium for opponents but it looks like an erector set with no character

Probably Penn State when they're playing well is a difficult one because it's like an erector set, and it's huge... it doesn't, in my opinion, have that much character. It just looks like it got added onto and added onto another erector set.

Stadium character and architectural beauty are entirely subjective matters of opinion.

Grit is more important than athletic ability for a quarterback

That's why I think grit's more important than ability is because Craig Krenzel was not the most talented quarterback in the nation... but he did the one thing that you're supposed to do if you're the quarterback, and that's win every game.

The relative value of intangible traits versus physical talent is a subjective debate in sports.

Fullback dives are not gritty; they are essentially a pillow fight

No [fullback dives are not gritty]. Fullback dive is kind of like a pillow fight. You just run up in there. I mean, it's either you get a lot or you get nothing because you don't get any movement. You don't even have enough running start to have a collision in a fullback dive.

This is a humorous subjective opinion from a legendary coach.
