Rob Gronkowski is the greatest tight end and greatest mismatch in the history of football

Gronk is... He's unguardable. He's unguardable. He's the greatest mismatch in the history of football. He's the greatest tight end in the history of football.

This is a widely debated but highly supported opinion among NFL analysts.

Josh Allen is number one on my 2018 draft big board

I made my first big board today. Josh Allen's number one, and then I don't have anybody else until like six... Just remember he's tall. He's tall? That's all you've got to do. Hey, guess what? He's got a big arm... he looks good in shorts.

PredictionCFBHotSarcastic
While initially a joke about Mel Kiper's love for 'tall' QBs, Josh Allen was drafted #7 overall and became one of the best QBs in the NFL, though he wasn't #1 on most real big boards.

Josh Allen stinks and doesn't pass my eyeball test

I personally think Josh Allen stinks. I've watched him play every time. He doesn't pass my eyeball test, which is, as most people know, probably the hardest test to pass.

While Allen became a superstar in the NFL, at the time of the draft, his college stats and 'eyeball test' were highly controversial, making this a common but ultimately incorrect evaluation of his potential.

No short quarterback has ever won a Super Bowl

If you are walking on the street and someone says, hey, I love Baker Mayfield, you say, hey, Josh Allen's tall. You've got to see over your offensive line. No short quarterback has ever won a Super Bowl.

This is factually incorrect. Drew Brees (6'0") won Super Bowl XLIV and Russell Wilson (5'11") won Super Bowl XLVIII.

Blake Bortles is the 70th best quarterback in the NFL

Jacksonville is the best team in football... the problem is you've got to knock them down a few ranks because they have the 70th best quarterback... No, I'm not taking anything back from what I've said. Sorry. Negative.

Bortles led the Jags to the AFC Championship and nearly the Super Bowl that year. While he eventually flamed out, ranking him 70th (behind players like Austin Davis) while he was winning playoff games was widely considered an absurd exaggeration.

The Jaguars are the best team in football talent-wise

Jacksonville is the best team in football. They have the best players on the field on a week-to-week basis. I said, the problem is you've got to knock them down a few ranks because they have the 70th best quarterback.

The Jaguars defense was elite in 2017 (2nd in scoring), but calling them the best team in football overall is highly subjective and debatable given the dominance of the Patriots and Eagles that season.

The Vikings will beat the Eagles 23-17 in a close NFC Championship game

I'm going to pick Minnesota in a close football game... I think it's an ugly game, but like a 23-17, 20-17 Vikings win.

The Eagles blew out the Vikings 38-7. Simms was completely wrong about both the winner and the nature of the game.
