Chicago Bulls executive John Paxson has a job for life and will never be truly fired

John Paxson has a job for life. I actually think that... in 50 years when he passes... the Reinsdorfs will put an eternal flame in his office and that oil to keep that eternal flame lit will probably hamstring them so they can't sign any free agents.

Paxson was eventually demoted to a 'senior advisor' role in 2020 but remained with the organization, proving Big Cat's point about his job security.

Cam Newton is clearly playing through a severe shoulder injury

If you have two eyes and a brain, Cam Newton is very, very hurt... Different guy since he got hit by T.J. Watt in that Thursday night football game.

Newton underwent shoulder surgery in January 2019, confirming the severity of the injury discussed here.

The Saints are the most complete team in the NFC

The Saints look pretty good. Their defense is awesome, I would say. So, yeah, they are probably the most complete team in the NFC, I would say.

The Saints finished 13-3 and earned the #1 seed in the NFC, though they famously lost in the NFC Championship due to the 'No Call'.

The fumble-out-of-the-end-zone touchback rule is actually good because it rewards defense

You're looking at as the punishment doesn't fit the crime... You should look at it as the reward. It fits the feat. It fits the accomplishment. So if you're the defense and you make a guy fumble through the end zone at the one-yard line, that's an awesome play... You should get a big reward for that.

This is an inherently subjective take on a sports rule.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
