Dana Altman is the most underrated coach in America

Dana Altman my most underrated coach in America. I love how he coaches basketball. Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks... Fun fact, Dana Altman is now 8-0 in first round NCAA tournaments. He is such a good coach and he has them overachieving every single year.

This is subjective, but Altman's consistent success as a double-digit seed supports the claim.

The winner of Oakland vs. NC State will be the story of the tournament heading into the Sweet 16

What the winner of that game [Oakland vs. NC State] is going to be the talk of the week leading up to Sweet 16 because it'll be a great story either way.

The winner was NC State, and DJ Burns/the Wolfpack's run became the dominant story of the tournament as they advanced to the Final Four.

MLB will avoid banning Shohei Ohtani because he is too valuable to the league's revenue

It seems to me like baseball, given how much money they stand to make from Ohtani, really does not want to have to treat Ohtani like they would anyone. Can you imagine if it was a utility player that paid off four and a half million dollars? How fast would that guy be banned for baseball for life?

Ohtani was ultimately cleared of wrongdoing by MLB and federal investigators, while his interpreter was charged. PFT's cynicism about the 'star treatment' remains subjective.

Purdue will win the National Championship as a redemption story similar to Virginia in 2019

I love love, love love Purdue. Revenge... The UVA formula. And what, what didn't UVA win the next year? Yeah. It's happening again.

Purdue reached the National Championship game but lost to UConn 75-60, falling just short of the 'Virginia redemption' story.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
