Patrick Mahomes will win MVP and be inducted into the Hall of Fame in his rookie year

I think he's going to be the first player ever in his rookie year to win MVP and automatic induction to the Hall of Fame.

Mahomes did win MVP in 2018 (his second season, but first as a starter), but obviously didn't go to the HOF that year. He is however a lock for the future.

Josh Allen, better running quarterback than Cam Newton.

While Josh Allen became one of the greatest running QBs ever, at the time of the take, Cam Newton was still the gold standard for power running at the position.

I am going to hang the Done Chain on the Houston Texans. Done. Done. I'm done with them.

The 2018 Texans actually went on a 9-game winning streak after this and finished 11-5, winning the AFC South. This is a legendary 'cold take'.

Deshaun Watson will not have a great season due to his ACL recovery timeline

I didn't think that Deshaun Watson was going to have a great year this year because Adrian Peterson screwed it up for everybody by coming back from that ACL so quickly... It's going to be like a year and a half before he gets back to normal.

Watson actually had a very strong 2018, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 26 TDs while making the Pro Bowl.

Oregon is probably out if it loses to USC

The USC game will be massive. If Oregon loses that game, they're probably out.

Oregon's playoff status after the USC game was still unresolved at the time of the episode.
