The Chicago Bears will win the NFC North because Teddy Bridgewater got hurt

I got the Chicago Bears [to win the NFC North]... Teddy Bridgewater got hurt. So, the only team I was worried about was the Vikings and now they're out of the way.

The Bears finished 3-13 in 2016, last in the NFC North.

Pardon My Take has more listeners than Bill Simmons

We have over 40 million listeners in six months. That's crazy... I'm just going to say it's more than Simmons. Yeah, it's more than [Bill] Simmons.

While PMT became the #1 sports podcast, 40 million listeners in the first 6 months of 2016 is an extreme exaggeration of unique listeners compared to established stars like Simmons at that time.

Trevor Siemian is the Tim Tebow of the 2016 Denver Broncos

I don't even care that Trevor Siemian is the starting quarterback. Every game he's been in, they've won. Absolutely. So he's the Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos this year.

Siemian went 8-6 as a starter in 2016, a respectable winning record for a first-year starter, echoing the Tebow-esque 'he just wins' narrative briefly.

Buying a Pardon My Take shirt makes you a part-owner of Larry the Goldfish

If you buy a Pardon My Take shirt, you are an owner of Larry [the Goldfish] like the Green Bay Packers, except you actually own something, not fake own it.

The 'ownership' is symbolic/satirical for marketing purposes and does not grant actual legal ownership of the goldfish or its winnings.

There will not be a Major League Baseball season next year because of the CBA negotiations

Next up, we're just not gonna have baseball next year. ... In its next CBA, the league is proposing a max contract. The length of five years for free agent players switching teams, six years to retain their own players. No deferred contracts. ... It just feels like we're so far away. I don't know.

Pending the outcome of the MLB CBA negotiations for the upcoming season.

The WNBA should be doing more to protect Caitlin Clark as their cash cow

They are though. Like it is kind of crazy that they aren't like they should be protecting her. Their cash cow a little bit. ... I mean she does make them the most amount of money.

This is a subjective opinion on league strategy.

To have a great sports league, you need a couple of dominant dynasties rather than total parity every year

Adam Silver saying the goal over time has been, and I've said it to be more NFL like where you believe your team has a shot. ... he also likes the parity, which I, I can't like parity is fun to a point. But dynasties are what get people, you know, upset and passionate. Like dynasties are, you know, teams of the decade and all that stuff. So you can't have just a new winner every single year. You need a couple dynasties.
