The NCAA will be defunct within five years due to NIL and conference realignment

With all the conference realignment and stuff going on and all of the NCAA. And NIL, I think that the NCAA will be defunct within five years. I like it. I liked that. So it was the sec just gonna become the, the NCAA. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's what it feels like. That's where is trending anywhere where it's all just money they're taking out the administrative school part of it.

The NCAA has not become defunct. As of July 2026, it continues to operate as the governing body for college athletics, holding conventions and managing tournaments, despite significant challenges and discussions about its future structure and power.

Coach K will win 'Retirement of the Year' multiple times because he wants a year-long 'suck my dick' tour

I'm going to say coach K is going to win it this year. And he's going to win next year when he actually does retire because coach K has said that he's going to retire, but he needs everyone to suck his dick for an entire year before he actually retired. He could probably be talked into coming back... then he could have a dynasty of retirement.

Coach K did indeed have a long farewell tour throughout the 2021-22 season and retired after the 2022 Final Four.

The European Super League would have been sick and a great idea

I honestly kind of missed the idea of the super league. I, again, it's bad. We understand football's a sport. Everything else is a business, but super league would have been sick and low key. Imagine Man City against Barcelona on a Wednesday, like twice a year on a Wednesday that you would have. That's just a great idea. Great idea.

The Super League collapsed within days of its announcement in April 2021. This is a subjective opinion on its potential quality.

Dan Wolken thinks sports should not exist until he personally approves of them

[Dan Wolken] thinks it's sports and he doesn't think that sports should ever exist. He thinks that balls, every ball should be deflated in America until such time that Dan Wolken personally approves of it.

This is a satirical characterization of Wolken's caution regarding sports during the pandemic; it cannot be literally verified.

The Chargers' game against the Raiders is a must-win

The Chargers might have the most must-win game of all time playing the Raiders with the schedule they have. If they don't win this week, it's over.

The Chargers' season outcome and whether the loss effectively ended their season had not been resolved at the time of the episode.

Texas won; Ohio State choked

I'll say Texas win, Ryan Day choke. The play calling, I don't know, maybe they got too conservative. I think they probably did.

This is a retrospective interpretation of the game rather than a purely objective claim; assigning primary blame is subjective.

Oregon is probably out if it loses to USC

The USC game will be massive. If Oregon loses that game, they're probably out.

Oregon's playoff status after the USC game was still unresolved at the time of the episode.
