The 'Green Zone' on-field graphic will save the NFL's TV ratings

Breaking moves. I think the NFL has figured out how to save their ratings in their league. The green zone. It's a new feature they rolled out tonight. It's on third downs. It shows you how far players will have to go at any point during the play to get a first down.

The Green Zone was a polarizing feature that didn't single-handedly 'save' ratings, though ratings did trend upward in the following seasons for various reasons.

Jimmy Pitaro will eventually go to Mike Golic with his hat in his hand for a Mike and Mike reunion

There's going to be a Mike and Mike reunion. It's going to happen. Jimmy [Pitaro] is going to go to Mike Golic with his hat in his hand and say, Mike, we screwed up.

A full Mike and Mike reunion on ESPN never occurred; the show remained defunct.

A Mike and Mike reboot would be worth signing a new contract with ESPN for

I will sign another contract with ESPN if it's to work on the reboot of Mike and Mike. There we go.

The reboot never happened and the hosts never returned to ESPN in this capacity.

The NFL is trending toward eliminating the preseason in favor of a 19 or 20-game regular season

This is now how it chips away that we're going to maybe go no preseason 19-20 games. Regular season. McVay's doing that, too. McVay benched all his good players. So, I mean, I would be, you know, take away a couple preseason, give us a couple more regular season. I'd be okay with that. Why not? More football that way.

The NFL expanded to a 17-game regular season in 2021 and reduced the preseason to 3 games, proving Big Cat's intuition about the shift correct, though the specific number (19-20) hasn't been reached yet.

Tom Brady helping Mike Macdonald prepare for the Patriots would be a huge slap in the face to the New England region.

That would be egregious if that was true. I don't believe it is true. But if it were, that would be unforgivable. Not unforgivable. That would be a, a blemish, a big blemish. Big time. It'd be a slap in the face of the whole region.

Subjective opinion on how a hypothetical rumor would be perceived.

Jayson Tatum is playing cute by claiming he found out about the Jaylen Brown trade on social media.

I'm sure he knew that he was on the trading block and he didn't know specifically when he got traded and he found out just like everyone else... all Brad Stevens, Jaylen Brown, they talked about how, you know, he was gonna be on the trading block and they were gonna try and move him. So I'm sure Jayson Tatum was also aware of that. But in terms of, he's probably playing a little, a little cutesy there where like no one specifically told him, 'Hey, this is the trade.' He found out like everyone else. But I'm sure he was not surprised and fully aware what the plan was.

Subjective interpretation of Tatum's PR framing.

The Celtics have another major move coming following the Jaylen Brown trade

There's something going on here. I I said it to Max on the boat yesterday. I was like, Jalen Brown was getting traded. I could, I could just feel it. I could feel it coming... I feel like the Paul George thing is, there's the, like, they might be doing another trade. There's another move coming.

The trade just happened in the fictional 2026 timeline provided; further moves are pending.
