NBA and MLB return plans for 2020 sound completely fictitious

I do not feel they're coming back. I think that the ideas that are being thrown around sound like they're just pitches... that MLB story today about a hundred games or whatever all in conference three home stadiums, that sounds like the most fictitious, it sounds like what happens after a bombing in 24.

Incorrect, as both MLB and the NBA successfully returned in 2020 using modified formats (60-game season for MLB and the Orlando Bubble for the NBA).

Jameis Winston's LASIK surgery might turn him into 'Captain Checkdown'

What if [Jameis Winston] is able to see those cornerbacks and he becomes Captain check down and he's like, I can't believe I used to make those throw[s]... his eyes are going to be seeing ghosts and it's going to affect his personality like any wild way.

Winston did become slightly more careful with the ball in New Orleans before his ACL injury (14 TDs to 3 INTs in 2021), but he remained a high-risk, high-reward passer rather than a checkdown specialist.

The Patriots would be a good landing spot for Andy Dalton

Andy Dalton, I would take a chance on it. Patriots might [be], it seems like a good landing spot for him. I'd be fine with him.

Dalton signed with the Cowboys on May 2nd, 2020, the day after this episode aired.

Andy Dalton has had a better NFL career than Carson Wentz

Andy Dalton if the season ended today for both their careers Andy Dalton had a better career than Carson Wentz... His highs were better than Andy Dalton's [but] you can't put Carson ahead [of] Andy.

Statistically, Dalton finished with over 38,000 passing yards and 255 TDs compared to Wentz's ~22,000 yards and 153 TDs. While Wentz had a higher peak, Dalton's career longevity supports this opinion.

The Chiefs' window never closed

I don't think we ever actually closed the Chiefs' window. I think Mahomes was just in bed because he was injured, far away from the window.

The Chiefs' long-term contention status is ultimately subjective, though their dynasty remained active at the time of the episode.

Mahomes will be back to himself by season's end

By the end of this season, Mahomes is gonna be back to being Mahomes.

Whether Mahomes returned to his established level by the end of the 2026 NFL season had not yet been resolved.

The Oregon loss could turn Dan Lanning into a psychopath

I don't think that Dan Lanning has slept since that loss. I think Dan Lanning has turned into an absolute psycho because of this loss. He's sick. It actually might be a dangerous thing for the rest of the Big Ten that Oregon lost that game.

Whether the loss made Oregon more dangerous over the rest of the season is a future, testable team-performance claim.
