The Phillies will destroy the all-time postseason record for team home runs

The all time record for Homers in a playoff, it was the Tampa Bay Rays in 2020 with 34 home runs in those playoffs. These Phillies are on pace to destroy that record. And it's unreal.

The Phillies finished the 2023 postseason with 24 home runs, falling short of the 2020 Rays' record of 34, primarily because they were eliminated in the NLCS.

I would rather the Phillies play the Rangers than the Astros in the World Series

I would rather play the Rangers. [than the Astros]

The Phillies did not reach the World Series, losing to the Diamondbacks in the NLCS.

Justin Herbert is basically Kirk Cousins in powder blue

I think we just need to intentionally recalibrate our Justin Herbert expectations. Like officially right now, Justin Herbert is basically Kirk Cousins in powder blue.

Herbert struggled with injuries and inconsistent play in 2023, failing to reach the elite status predicted by some, though the 'Kirk Cousins' label remains a point of heavy debate.

Players should be allowed to open-hand slap any fan who talks shit to them immediately after a loss

I really do think that Caleb Williams, like every player, if a fan goes up to you and talks shit after a devastating loss, you have like a ten second period where you can just open hand slap 'em. Yeah. Not punch. We're civilized. But I think that that would actually, if that just became a law and a rule, 'cause then fans would start acting accordingly.

This is a hyperbolic suggestion for a rule change in sports culture and cannot be 'correct'.

The 4-1 loss to Belgium was the worst USMNT performance in years

That was the worst performance from the US that I've seen in years. Just completely lackluster from the start. So much blame to go around. Tim Ream, friend of the program, good guy over the hill, turned into soccer Shawn Bradley before our very eyes got dunked on twice.

Subjective opinion on the quality of the performance.

Christian Pulisic was a 'no-show' and looked like he didn't care against Belgium

Christian Pulisic, the long anointed Captain America future face of this league for American soccer. Absolute no show of a game, I would say worse than a no show of a game. And then he checks himself out. Just looks lackluster, looks like he doesn't care at all. Had the most turnovers on the field of anybody. That played just really, really, really bad.

Subjective evaluation of Pulisic's effort and performance.

The US will never close the skill gap compared to the rest of the world in soccer

People will never close the skill gap. USA will never close the skill gap compared to the rest of the world in soccer.

Historically, the US has struggled to produce technical talent on par with Brazil or Europe.
